Hey Leapers!
Today we're releasing the 0.9999999 Update, our 10th and last Early Access update before 1.0! (Yes, that's the real version number. 1.0 will be a whole other beast.) Clearer fights, smarter shops, faster travel and a game that runs a lot smoother.

Read the Fight
Enemies now show attack previews: a dynamic warning system that lets you read the chaos and react in the heat of the moment. We also adjusted a lot of attack timings so fights flow better. The goal: when you get hit, you know why (and it should now be on you, sorry).
Shops, Your Way
The revamped shop system now comes in six types: Gear, Gifts, Healing, Upgrade, Memonite and the general store. Pick the shop your build actually needs instead of praying to the RNG gods.
Fast-Return Teleporters
Took a branching path that didn't lead where you hoped? Dash into a Fast-Return Teleporter, open the map and pick where you want to go back to. Less backtracking, more slicing.
Smoother Runs, Comfier Hands
Performance: we went through the game with a fine-tooth comb. Assets that were loaded into memory twice now load once, secondary animations run on a much faster system, enemies are preloaded to cut stutters, and dozens of systems got lighter (the Headbanger's starfall phase alone gained around +15 FPS).
Controllers: Windblown now supports Steam Input, and the Switch Pro Controller works properly through Steam, with the Nintendo button layout if you prefer it.

Thank You, Leapers
This is the last Early Access update, so we want to say it loud: THANK YOU. Two years ago we opened the Vortex and asked you to break everything. You did, enthusiastically. Every bug report, balance rant, build theory and late-night Discord debate shaped what Windblown is today. By now, the game you're playing is as much yours as ours.
And now we're taking everything you taught us into 1.0. We can't say much yet (we're biting our tongues so hard right now), but trust us: it's the biggest thing we've ever built for Windblown, and we can't wait to show you what's coming. 👀
