Hi citizens of Nivalis Nights,
A new patch is now live! This one fixes several quests that could block your progress, including the Ava, Network and Aseptic quests. Greenhouse auto-plant now works as it should, even with full storage, and farming modules locked by Update 5’s level changes are now refunded. Your venues also keep running while you sleep.
On top of that, we’ve fixed memory leaks and improved performance, especially in long sessions and late-game saves. There are also new controller improvements and new looks for greenhouse modules.
Here’s the full list:
Quests
Fixed a blocking condition in the Ava quest.
Fixed a condition mismatch in the Network quest.
Fixed a blocking situation in the Aseptic quest.
Slumlord: you no longer fall through the world when entering Pilk’s apartment in Lowtown. Entering and leaving any apartment now always puts you on solid ground.
Greenhouses & Farming
Greenhouse auto-plant now replants the same crop after an auto-harvest, even when the greenhouse storage is full. It no longer leaves the module empty or switches to a different crop.
Farming modules that Update 5’s farming level changes locked for you are refunded at their base price, and a message tells you how many modules were refunded and for how much. A crop growing in a refunded module gives its seed back.
Greenhouse upgrades show their price again in every greenhouse after you’ve bought an upgrade in another one.
Venues
Venues keep running while you sleep. When you go to bed before curfew, the evening plays out: customers are served, pay and leave reviews, and staff are paid for those hours.
Venue finances now show what your ingredients really cost. Produce from your own greenhouse counts at its growing cost instead of the market price. Sales from before this patch still show the estimate.
Restock messages now say whether the manager used your greenhouse stock, bought from vendors, or both. Managers always use greenhouse stock first and only buy what’s still missing.
During rushes, you can take a finished meal that a waiter has claimed but not picked up yet, so staff no longer block you.
Food & Recipes
Fridges keep food fresh after loading a save. Before, every fridge worked like a cupboard after a load, so chilled food spoiled twice as fast.
Beer Soup in existing saves asks for cooked Wheat instead of Beer and can be cooked again. Recipe fixes now reach older saves, and your recipe customisations are kept.
Squid Ink no longer spoils and no longer needs a fridge. Squid Ink from older saves is no longer hidden and no longer turns into Rotten Food, so “A Drink to the Past” can be completed.
Optimisations
Fixed memory leaks: travelling between areas should no longer slowly increase memory usage. Lighting, reflections and leftover objects from the areas you leave are now properly released. This should reduce crashes during long play sessions, especially on Steam Deck and PCs with less memory.
Reduced memory used by the game.
Long lists in menus open and scroll much faster, especially in late-game saves (inventories, reviews, vendors, characters, saves, etc.).
Several optimisations to the customer, staff and venue simulation.
Greenhouse modules render more efficiently.
Controller Improvements
LB/RB now switch categories in the shop and in placement mode, and switch between cupboards and refrigerators in the storage interface.
The right stick now scrolls lists.
Pressing B when item details are displayed now returns to that item element in the list instead of closing the window.
In placement mode, pressing B while holding an item puts it away and returns selection focus to the item list.
Steering wheels, flight sticks and other devices that aren’t a keyboard, mouse or gamepad no longer take over the controls.
Improvements
It’s now possible to search which vendor is selling a specific item in the Characters menu.
When a search field is displayed on screen, writing on the keyboard should directly write to the search field (without having to click on it).
The Characters window now keeps the Chat or Quest tab selected when switching between characters.
Fixes
Getting caught during curfew no longer traps you. Furniture you moved in a property you don’t own goes back to where it stood.
When picking something up in your venue and leaving the venue, the object is now automatically stored in your inventory.
Storage transfer (venues and greenhouse): switching between the fridge and cupboard tabs no longer clears the item selected from the inventory.
Multiple pathing fixes for NPCs.
Fixed the player floating above the boat deck after loading a save made on the boat.
Fixed loading an autosave sometimes starting with the camera looking at the ground.
Fixed phone call voice lines staying silent when the game was paused right at the start of a line.
Fixed the curfew popup text sometimes appearing cut off or instantly.
The Night Vision bar in the Oil Rig should now work properly.
Fixed a rendering issue over the water during the cab landing in The Docks.
Fixed a conflict between boat lights and the lighting details option.
Fixed photo frames’ brightness and visibility.
Level design visual fixes in Central Canyon & Sewers.
Fixed player clipping issue in Calypso Island.
Added new vanity furniture to two restaurants in Calypso Island.
Fixed Couple's Vanity icon.
Fixed some NPCs clipping through geometry.
Removed some gas station signs that were misleading.
Level design fixes in Mountain Town that were preventing NPCs from correctly sitting at the Food Trailer counter.
Fixed emotion matrix changes during 2 dialogs with Ceres Coilson
Fixed a Venue overview UI display of the lifetime reviews
Visuals
New models and textures for the meat printer and the dairy printer.
Hydro modules now look different for each tier.
New icons for the meat, dairy and hydro modules.
Fixed the placement areas of all greenhouse modules.
Fixed floors and placement areas in the SkyHigh Gardens and Spire greenhouses.
Fixed the Basil plant model.
Fixed the 90 cm range hood icon and updated the icon of a bathroom vanity.
Known Issues
Some of the new text may not yet be translated in every language. These strings are already with our translators and will be included in the next patch.
Drinks can be picked up again, but cleaning them up yourself does not fully work yet. Your staff can still clean them for you in the meantime, and this has already been fixed for the next patch.
