Today is a big day for Astrometica! 🚀
First of all, we owe you an apology.
In our previous devlog, we promised that the New Horizons update would be released within three months. Unfortunately, we couldn't meet that deadline, and we're truly sorry.
We know that from your perspective, Astrometica hasn't received a major update in almost a year. But behind the scenes, we've been working nonstop!
During this time, we've released countless internal builds, redesigned entire locations, developed new systems, and worked closely with our QA testers to improve the game.
The problem? You couldn't see any of it.
And that's something we want to change.
🚀 Introducing the Experimental Branch!
Instead of keeping everything behind closed doors until the update is completely finished, we've decided to open the New Horizons experimental branch to everyone on Steam!
From now on, we want to develop Astrometica together with you!
We'll be releasing frequent updates, sometimes weekly and sometimes just days apart, bringing new features, improvements, bug fixes, and additional content as development continues.
Our goal is to keep improving Astrometica with your help until New Horizons is ready for its full release!
⚠️ Please Remember: This Is an Experimental Build!
This version is still heavily under development.
Expect bugs, crashes, unfinished locations, missing features, unpolished mechanics, and possibly broken progression.
Some things may change completely between updates, and save files may become incompatible.
This is NOT the finished New Horizons update. We're opening it early because we want your feedback!
🎮 How to Join the Experimental Branch
It's simple!
Open your Steam Library.
Right-click Astrometica → Properties.
Go to the Betas tab.
Under Beta Participation, select experimental.
Wait for Steam to download the update and start playing!

You can return to the stable version anytime by selecting None in the same menu.

Here's a look at some of the biggest changes you'll experience!
🌍 Completely Remade Theta-9
We've rebuilt Theta-9 almost entirely from scratch! The asteroid belt is now significantly larger, with improved environments, redesigned structures, and much more to explore.
🏗️ Tons of New Locations
Discover new space stations, abandoned facilities, mysterious structures, and hidden areas scattered throughout Theta-9.
🔫 New Tools & Weapons
We've introduced new tools and weapons to expand exploration, survival, and combat possibilities.
👽 New Enemies & Aliens
You're no longer alone out there! Encounter new alien creatures and dangerous enemies as you explore the asteroid belt.
🛠️ Console Dev Mode
We've added a new Developer Console that allows you to experiment with different features, test game mechanics, and explore the game more freely!
Simply press F1 while in-game to open the Developer Console.
🌿 New Theta-9 Biomes
Theta-9 now features different biomes, each bringing its own atmosphere, environments, and exploration opportunities.
🎮 Completely New Main Menu
We've redesigned the main menu to give Astrometica a fresh new look!
