THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE FIRST WEEK OF LAUNCH
We launched Order of the Sinking Star last week on October 8th (and in some parts of the world, October 9th), and we are grateful for the overwhelmingly positive response from you all. Your support and enthusiasm for Order of the Sinking Star has been truly inspiring. 10 years ago, there was the ambitious idea for this game design supercollider, and it still feels surreal that this project is now available around the world. Thank you to everyone who’s played it so far, and for helping make it an overwhelming success across the board!
Here are a few quick milestones we’ve reached in the first week of launch:
Steam Review Rating: “Overwhelmingly Positive” with over 2000+ reviews. Thank you all for the reviews – keep them coming.
Sales & Players: Order of the Sinking Star has sold 45% more units on Steam in its first week than The Witness did. The game also exceeded The Witness’ peak concurrent player count on Steam by 33%!
Press, Creators + Streamer Support: Glowing reviews from press and content creators, and great streams from Twitch streamers. It’s been fun popping into the streams!
Storefront Placement: At launch, the game landed in the Top 5 on Steam's "Popular New Releases", was in the Top 10 for Steam’s Top Sellers list for single-player games, and featured in the Featured & Recommended carousel via Steam. Also, the game landed in the Top 15 best sellers list on Nintendo eShop and the What's Hot section on the PlayStation Store.
WHAT’S NEXT
We’ve had an incredible launch, but we know there’s still some work to be done. We’ve seen your feedback in our Discord and across other socials there are some bugs that should be fixed and tweaks to some levels that should be made. We take these issues seriously, and we’ve been issuing patches to address these issues as quickly as possible.
We’re continuing to improve performance across all platforms, and finalize localization overall. On the localization side, as previously promised, we plan to soon add in Chinese voice-over narration and we’re working on bringing the Japanese version of the game to consoles.
That’s it for now, but thank you again for your support!
