Reignited: An Update From Mod Ryan — RuneScape ® News

Hey 'Scapers,

[p align="start"]We've got some important news to share around RuneScape Reignited - Please have a watch.

The video will cover everything you need to know, but if you prefer reading a transcript instead, the following has you covered:

[p align="start"]Hey everyone, Mod Ryan here to give you an update on Reignited.

[p align="start"]First of all, thank you for all the feedback since the announcement at Runefest. We received a ton of different perspectives from all of you, and we truly appreciate everyone sharing their views. It is super important to us because the last time we didn't listen to player feedback, combat changed forever. And it has taken us over a decade to recover from that. Now I said on stage that we would not repeat the same mistakes of the past, and I truly stand by that.

[p align="start"]Considering this, we have made the decision to cancel Reignited.

RuneScape Reignited has been Cancelled

[p align="start"]It is clear that we missed the mark on this, and so we are not moving forward with it.

[p align="start"]Our goal is to see Runescape grow again, with returning players coming back and new players joining, but never at the expense of our existing community.

The Invitation Remains

[p align="start"]Now we know this will come as a disappointment to those of you who are looking forward to beginning a new experience with Reignited.

[p align="start"]But to those people, I personally would like to reach out and maintain that invitation. Despite these changes to the plans, I truly believe that December remains a fantastic time to start or continue your journey in RuneScape.

[p align="start"]On the 2nd of December, we'll be releasing the Adventure Guide and the first part of the Remastered Journey, alongside a host of other improvements, some of which you've all been talking about over the last week. And all of this will further improve the experience for those jumping back in and for those exploring it for the first time.

[p align="start"]I really want everyone to see the love that's gone into the game over the past 18 months.

New & Returner Membership Trial

[p align="start"]So we're still going to open the gates on December 2nd with a 10 day free trial that runs for 10 days between December 2nd and December 12th. New characters, or any character that on December 2nd has not been in membership since the 2nd of June, will be able to freely access RuneScape Members worlds and content during the 10 day period.

[p align="start"]Old School RuneScape Members Worlds are not included as part of this period. For more information, please check the full T&Cs at the bottom of this blog.

[p align="start"]If you've been waiting for the perfect time to get your friends to give RuneScape a try, this will be it.

[p align="start"]No split worlds, just you, me, and the many players coming in, playing the game we all love together.

The 2027 Roadmap Remains As Strong As Ever

[p align="start"]And for those of you who are further along in your journey... The conversation around Reignited overshadowed what we believe is one of the best roadmap reveals in memory. And this roadmap was built from the ground up with you, our core community in mind.

[p align="start"]There's tons of combat and skilling content throughout. We're bringing decade-old storylines to a close, with a return to a proper grandmaster quest. And we're reworking a core skill that is fundamental to the player experience: Agility. All of this while still continuing to deliver meaningful changes as part of the Road to Restoration.

[p align="start"]Over the years, I've had the pleasure of experiencing the best of RuneScape alongside all of you. I was here and I saw 2016's God Wars Dungeon 2, 2019's Archaeology, 2021's Elder God Wars, and I can say that 2027 is absolutely stacked. The team and I are now hyperfocused on delivering some of the best content you have ever seen. We are committed to the path we set out on this year to restore the game and to return the heart to RuneScape.

[p align="start"]Now I'll round off by saying that the future of RuneScape is still extremely bright. RuneScape will always be built for and defined by its community. So please keep letting us know when you feel we're getting it wrong and shout with that same energy when you think we're getting it right too.

[p align="start"]Now with all that said....

Plugins will be launching on Monday, October 19th.

[p align="start"]We'll be back on Monday to share more information about plugins. See you there!
