Hey Leapers!
The coffee machine in Bordeaux has been working overtime, and it shows 👀 We've just deployed a brand new build to our Open Beta branch for our next update. Aptly named...
The "???" Update
(Yes, that's the name. No, we're not telling you why. Not yet, anyway.) We won't spoil everything, but here's the top line so you know what you're jumping into:
Combat Readability: Enemy attack previews, a silhouette when you're hidden behind enemies, and a lot of fairer attack timings.
Enemy Force Fields: In higher difficulties, some enemies spawn shielded, and only your Alterattack can break through.
Rarity Rework: Rarities now use multipliers for a less broken start and better late-run scaling. Some Gifts also get a special Mythic version!
Rewards & Shops: 6 types of shops, new Elite-only rewards (say hi to the Transmuter) and more risk vs reward choices.
17 New Affixes, the new Chrono Fish Magifish, and the Double Hits Gift makes a comeback.
Fast-Return Teleporters & Camera Distance: Less backtracking, and you can now zoom out (or in) as you like.
Controls & Accessibility: Full Steam Input / Nintendo Switch Pro controller support, plus a new Auto Combo option.
Performance: Better FPS overall and fewer early-run and shop stutters.
Big Balance Pass: Co-op, Cataclysmic difficulty, Gifts, Hexes, Trinkets, Weapons and the economy all got tuned.
Plus loads more! (Heads up: the Memory Deck has been rebalanced, so you'll need to tweak your old decks.) This is a big one balance-wise, so we really need you to push it, break it and tell us how it feels. Drop your feedback in the comments below or come chat with us on Discord!
