To all friends of the Family, salutamu.
Welcome to the latest installment of Mafia Family Business, a semi-regular spotlight on the Mafia community, the teams that work on the games, and the impressive talents of our fans. This installment is all about Mafia III in honor of the game's 10-year anniversary.
Mafia III's 10-Year Anniversary and Franchise Sale*
Family isn’t who you’re born with, it's who you die for. It's been 10 years since Mafia III made its debut on October 7, 2016, following Lincoln Clay as he blazes a violent path of revenge through the mob-run city of New Bordeaux in 1968. To celebrate, we're honoring a decade of Lincoln's legacy with a new Steam update bringing quality-of-life enhancements to Mafia III: Definitive Edition, live now. For a limited time, you can also save 80% on Mafia III: Definitive Edition or 50% on the Mafia: The Omertà Collection bundle as part of an ongoing Mafia franchise sale running now until October 22.*
Whether you've already spent hours methodically eliminating the mobsters who betrayed your surrogate family, or you've yet to experience Lincoln's journey as he wages war on the Italian Mafia, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the treacherous underworld of New Bordeaux. Choose your own playstyle—brute force, blazing guns, or stalk-and-kill tactics—to tear down the Mafia, building a new criminal empire with the help of underbosses who may or may not be worthy of your trust.
Mafia III: Definitive Edition includes the main game, all Story DLC (Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned, and Sign of the Times) and Bonus Packs (the Family Kick-Back Pack and the Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack) bundled together. It's also included in Mafia: The Omertà Collection's four-game bundle; you can learn more about Mafia: The Omertà Collection here.
Mafia III: Definitive Edition Steam Update Notes - Oct 8
Highlights
Smoother mission progression: We addressed several spots where players reported getting stuck and unable to make progress in missions like "Get Enzo Conti," "Kill Tommy Marcano," and the Epilogue. No more dead ends when you're trying to finish the story. We also addressed reported crashes that could happen while driving into the Wharf, shooting a gas canister during "Destroy Boosted Car Shipment," or unlocking certain achievements mid-drive.
Improvements to Achievement tracking: Addressed reported issues with progress towards certain Achievements to ensure that your accomplishments are accurately tracked.
Better NPC and companion behavior: Characters like Alcee, Father James, and others didn't always behave as expected during missions, sometimes blocking your progress. We've cleaned up their behavior so missions flow the way they're meant to.

See you in New Bordeaux
To everyone who stepped into Lincoln's boots over the last 10 years, or those who are just now seeing the sights and seedy underbelly of New Bordeaux for the first time, we're incredibly thankful for the support. We hope you enjoy the improvements made to Mafia III: Definitive Edition and its gritty rendition of the American south in the late '60s. If you're so inclined, take a seat at the table and discuss Lincoln's journey and the entirety of Mafia: The Omertà Collection with your fellow mafiosi by joining the official Mafia Discord.
We'll continue the celebration of Mafia III's 10-year anniversary later this month with two community-driven events, so consider this your official heads-up. Over on the Mafia Discord, we'll share some Mafia III-themed prompts to hear from the community, and Discord members who participate at least once across all three activity types will earn a unique Discord icon commemorating Mafia III's milestone.
In late October, we're hosting a Screenshot Challenge focusing on Mafia III, similar to the Mafia: The Old Country Photo Mode Challenge earlier this year. When all's said and done, we'll highlight our favorite submissions for the entire community to enjoy, with commentary from Hangar 13 developers. We'll share more on how to participate in both the Discord activities and Screenshot Challenge in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned.
Honoring the Family
We're always pleased to see players showcase the beauty and grit of every Mafia setting, whether via shots taken in Mafia: The Old Country's Photo Mode, captures from other Mafia titles, or eye-catching pieces of fan art.
