We have some big news to share!
As of 20th December 2023 Big Fat Battle will go Free to Play.
Why?
We know Big Fat Battle is at its best with full lobbies and so our reasoning for this move is to encourage additional players to join the arenas and ensure that you have more interesting matches.
We launched intending the game to be premium with no in-game purchases, however we have listened carefully to our audience and believe the best way of ensuring players have the fullest experience is to bring in more battlers.
What will F2P look like?
We wanted the in game purchases to be as straightforward as possible.
The progression system will be broken into 2 paid expansions. Levels are earned via xp from battles. With each level, new items can be unlocked via quests.
Free players can progress through levels and unlock all ranged weapons and buffs as well as a few characters and melee options.
Purchasing an expansion will add items into the progression which are unlocked in the same manner (levels and quests). These will consist of additional characters and melee weapons.
Our philosophy will always be to keep Big Fat Battle accessible to all.
I bought the game, what happens to me?
We appreciate early adopters and as such both expansions will automatically be unlocked for those with a game key prior to the switch. We are also adding further characters, buffs and melee to the progression, and as such players who have purchased will in fact see more content than before.
We hope that this change brings a wave of new players to the game so that you have a better playing experience. We have been, and continue to listen.
