Today I have a very important patch that addresses some long standing problems like the experience system not working and a bunch of map bugs. Now that this patch is done, I can get started on some more exciting updates and work on some marketing to bring new players to the game. As always, let me know if you have any feedback!
Changes:
- Fixed the experience system;
- Removed skill points, abilities now unlock based on account level;
- Slightly improved jumping as a prop;
- New: Unstuck button for Hunters;
- Fixed terrain textures on the Winter Kingdom map;
- Improved visibility of the chat box;
- Fixed various bugs on the following maps: City, Winter Kingdom, SciFi City, Farm, and Military;
- Cleaned project files, reduced the overall game size by ~0.5 GB
Developer Notes:
The experience system hasn't been working for years, this was due to the old database completely breaking. Over the last couple weeks, I had to completely rebuild the database with new tools, and implement that into the existing code. This took some time, but now that its working, players can once again gain experience and unlock abilities and achievements. Unfortunately, since the old database was lost, all player data was reset. There wasn't anything I could do to prevent this, so to hopefully make up for it, I'll be running a double XP boost from now till the end of the week. Additionally, I'd like to note that I have plans to rework the skill system that we currently have. For now, I've removed skill points to simplify the code, but in the future though we'll have a much more interesting skill system and more skills for you to play with. Stay tuned!
