On the new Update
We have good news, we are in fact not dead! Over the past few months we have been busy working on a new major update for the game. Sadly, this update will remain in development for a few more months and we won’t announce a release date yet, but we are working hard to get it out as soon as possible. To give you a better idea on why it’s taking so long, here is a short list of changes the new update will bring:
- a complete revamp of some internal systems, improving the performce of the significantly and making the ui less glitchy
- a new biome!
- a new enemy type
- new map generation
- a collection ui, showing you which cards you already collected, in this and previous runs
- a complete rebalancing of the game
- major changes to encounter gameplay (that we won’t spoil yet)
- a bunch of new cards, encounter modifiers and effects
As we approach the release of this update, there will be a spoiler season where we show some of the new cards, encounter modifiers and other teasers. Here are little hints we have posted in our discord server before:
- There is a bullet that was not created digitally.
- There is at least one bullet which doesn't feature the word "Bullet" in its name
- There is a bullet which is named after and looks like something that can be seen on the map in the bewitched forest
- Flavortext: ”Im sorry to everyone with …....... . Though, if I had that, i probably wouldn’t look at that hairy thing just to read an apology. Ew”
- Flavortext: ”Dead or alive. In our case dead tho, no reserves if he is still breathing.”
- A statuseffect which implements an existing encounter modifier on a temporary basis
- An encounter modifier named "Confused"
- The new enemy has a attack "Heads up - or rather down"
This update is quite ambitious, and we are happy to say that most of the above features are actually implemented already! But the adding the remaining features, and most importantly, testing them and making sure they work like we want them to, will still take some time. In addition, we are a quite small team of five people working on this as a hobby, so our time is unfortunately limitet. But on that note:
The .Forty-Five team got help!
A discord user called @nutellacroissant recently joined us! He is a screenwriter and is helping us out with some of the flavourtexts and dialogs in the game. This will hopefully deepen the lore of the game and reduce the amount of spelling mistakes / weird grammar. If you can help us out with some aspect of the game and are willing to donate some of your time, fell free to message us on Discord!
