Gameplay & Levels
- Made data terminals safe per default. When you use them, all enemies stop moving. You can toggle this on and off with the “Safe Data Terminals” setting. Note that this won’t stop the timer used for achievements and that enemies’ aggression levels won’t cool down while you’re using the terminal.
- We added a scripted event in the gym that will hopefully resolve confusion about backtracking (some players didn’t think they could get past the moths and went back to where they came from).
- Added a scripted surprise as well as some more cocoons around the ship. Also fixed the material for the cocoons that weren’t visible in heat vision.
- The big monster kill-cam/jumpscare is more zoomed in.
- Added a helpful prompt that appears after a while for players struggling with opening the first door.
- Heat vision now costs a little bit of battery to turn on (to nerf the "spam E" strategy).
- Moved the recharge station within the servers area and added one to the gym.
- Added crouch prompts at obstacles since some players missed that you could go under them.
Settings
- Added a Gamma setting for easier brightness adjustments but kept the old Brightness and Contrast settings for additional tweaking.
- All sounds should now be controlled by the correct sound settings sliders.
Sound
- Monsters roar when you step into the light and moths buzz around the lamp. Also added more variation to the monster’s roar when it kills you.
- Improved sound attenuation and tweaked many of the sounds.
Bug fixes
- Fixed a VSync issue.
- Resolved a bug where the moths deal double damage.
- Fixed a spelling mistake in a log. Players have read about 4000 read logs so it does make you a bit self-conscious xD
FYI, the update may cause conflicts with the save system. If you experience any weird bugs, try starting a new game!
