So, like, did you know this pawsome day was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare? It's all about raising awareness for us fabulous felines and learning how to help and protect us.
Even though we're total internet stars (yay us!), there are still some seriously unfair stereotypes about cats. People say we're treacherous, cold, and self-interested. Any cat lover knows that's just not true. These prejudices are a major injustice to us kitties.
Because of these silly misconceptions, many cats are mistreated on the streets and forgotten in shelters. So not cool!
