We recruited the help of a fan and modder, Buttery Stancakes, to help us do some very extensive QA. Their knowledge of the game and attention to detail was extremely vital for helping us iron out a lot of remaining bugs and general polish issues with the game. There's a lot of stuff here that *most* people probably would not notice, but they make a big impact on the game's overall quality.
Here are more thorough notes on what's been fixed/changed:
- Bear traps should now disappear after you “escape” from them
- Fixed issue with fog effect, where you could "peak through the fog" if you rotated the camera a certain way
- Fixed bug where a specific destroyed camera could still detect the player after loading a save file
- Fixed bug where the "ambient light" would reset if you touched some specific triggers
- Fixed bug where the Revolver cylinder could go out of order if you shot continuously
- Disabled some useless items during a later section of the game
- Fixed issue where you could reload the gun while swimming
- Fixed bug where Paperclip health would persist when starting a new game
- Fixed bug where certain light sources did not correctly increase the player's illumination
- Fixed issue where you could destroy some doorknobs during a segment you weren't meant to (sorry to any speedrunners)
- Fixed bug where using the Hammer to destroy things wouldn't correctly alert the Butcher
- Fixed an animation issue that could occur when using the Hammer for a puzzle segment
- Fixed a long-standing "inventory" bug where you could get an invisible duplicate item in your inventory
- Fixed a NavMesh carver issue
- Fixed some audio ambience
- Added low pass filter to Radar item, so the high pitch sound should be less bothersome for players
- Adjusted Butcher costume changes slightly
- Fixed bug where item illumination didn't correctly update when dropping items
- Fixed issue with lock picking on keyboard, where you can *now* use both A and D to rotate the lockpick
- Fixed bug where solving a specific puzzle would cause Granny to scream
- Adjusted Health indicator so it makes more sense with the current damage values, and should better reflect how many hits are left before you die
- Fixed issue where photo mode movement speed was framerate dependent
- Adjusted a "blood" texture on a couple specific models
- Fixed issue with TV framerate
- Fixed clock puzzle being framerate-dependant
- Fixed some visual issues with swimming
- Fixed some visual issues with the Oxygen Meter
- Fixed issue where baby would ignore damage after retreating for first time
- Fixed a couple paperclips that were impossible to grab
- Fixed bug where some items were incorrectly parents to cabinet doors
- Fixed minor bug where a specific item did not have a "visual flare"
- Fixed issue with Butcher AI related to seeing the player in vents
- Adjusted behavior related to Butcher's "flashlight"
- Fixed some issues related to Bug Spray item particles
- Adjusted some "reskin" textures for specific items
- Using water canteen or candy bar while your stats are at 100% will now trigger the "I don't need to use this" text
- Fixed some rotation + hand position values of specific items
- Fixed issue related to "Chainsaw Damage" being incorrect on some difficulties
- The first screwdriver has its position slightly changed so its more obvious
- Fixed some cabinet collision issues
- Got rid of some unnecessary "bolt locks"
- Adjusted position of exhaust fan
- Adjusted a specific NPC's clothing
- Fixed issue where you could interact with a specific puzzle from a very far distance
- Fixed bug where running out of Oxygen on Easy wouldn't kill you
- You can destroy TVs in 1 hit with the hammer now
- A couple "permanent" lights were disabled
- Fixed issue where some characters were slower on Easy mode when they shouldn't have been
- Adjusted "blood loss" on Hard mode
- Adjusted door physics slightly
- Fixed some Dog AI issues
- Adjusted issue related to Clock puzzle when you save + load a game
- Fixed bug where Stamina drain rate was incorrect
- Fixed bug where Victim could endlessly scream
- Fixed bug where documents could get duplicated
- Fixed issue related to the lightbulbs in the basement
- Fixed softlock that could happen if you interacted with a specific HVAC fan from a far enough distance away
- Fixed a couple issues related to item spawn locations
- Fixed issue where you could drop items when they weren't mean to be dropped, which would lead to them falling out of bounds
- Fixed issue where "no longer needed" items would drop during a puzzle segment, and then fall out of bounds
- Adjusted minor camera movement when doing a specific puzzle
- Fixed issue with radar blips appearing outside of the radar screen
- Fixed issue where enemies could open a specific door when they walked by it
- Fixed an exploit during the "final segment" where the player could easily avoid damage
- Fixed bug related to exiting water while their was still gas in the vents
- Victims stand up when they are in the safe room
- Properly gated off specific sections of the game during an "escape sequence"
- Fixed bug where the Language Prompt would always appear
- Fixed issue where you FOV would reset after interacting with certain puzzles
- Fixed bug where dying to Fall Damage during the "final segment" would not correctly reset the game state
- Fixed bug where a specific survivor would repeat their dialogue
- Adjusted resolution options
- Fixed bug where the pause screen would bug out if you paused at just the right time
