Calling all hunters, it’s time to save humanity.
The time has come to take the fight to the deadly SoNs and reclaim Tokyo Bay from the mechanical monsters that inhabit it. As one of the last hunters, it is up to you to rally a team of survivors together, save Iron Base, and defeat the machines once and for all!
Countdown to Extinction
Over the last few months we’ve been sharing posts containing everything there is to know about the world of Metal Max.
What was once the bustling Tokyo Bay is now the dried up, sand-covered desert of Dystokio. The whole area is swarming with the often-anthropomorphic hordes of the deadly SoNs. The last bastion of hope lies in a lone outpost, Iron Base.
Humanity’s Final Fortress
Iron Base has everything you need to keep you and your tank in fighting condition. While you’re there, say hello to the residents struggling to keep humanity alive. Everyone has a unique purpose in assisting you in your efforts. Be sure to bring back any other survivors you find on your travels, you never know, they may just be able to help you out!
Among the survivors is one very good boy! Pochi is humanity’s best friend in this post-apocalyptic world. Able to scavenge for scrap and even assist in battle, Pochi is a loyal companion with a nose for useful loot.
Tanks in Advance
Sometimes you’ll need a bigger weapon if you want to stand any chance of defeating some of the larger SoNs. That’s where your tank comes in. Metal Max Xeno Reborn has tonnes of vehicles to discover and each one can be fully customised with various weaponry, engines, and traits to give you an edge in battle.
Speaking of large SoNs, as well as the regular enemies you’ll be facing there are numerous WANTED machines. These terrifying monstrosities have become infamous for their lethal history and are notoriously difficult to defeat. However, should you muster up the courage and amass enough firepower, there is a huge reward to be claimed, not to mention being able to salvage some of their more deadly weaponry for yourself.
To the Victor go the Spoils
To stand a chance against these WANTED machines, you’ll need to create your own ultimate fighting machine. Using the tools at Iron Base and all of the parts you have scavenged; you can create more powerful weaponry using the base’s terminal.
But what's the point of toting a big cannon if you don’t know how to use it? Our final post gave you all the info you needed to execute some life-saving battle tactics. Diving headfirst into a fight isn’t always the best option, sometimes you’ll need cunning and patience to scope out an enemy’s weakness and equip yourself accordingly.
