1st June's Civil War II key giveaway!
Read the original on Steam ↗On this day, 155 years ago, about 210 virginian soldiers were occupying Fairfax Court House, about 14 miles west of Washington D.C.; they were under the command of Lt. Col. Richard S. Ewell.
They were engaged by forces from the 2nd U.S. Cavalry Regiment under the command of Lieutenant Charles Henry Tompkins.
No more than a few dozen men on each side took part in this minor skirmish, but it was in fact the first land engagement of the Civil War.
