Blackbeard:
Air Special:
Adjusted move functionality so that the animation continues without hitting the ground until Blackbeard begins to un-transform from the cannon.
Hitbox size reduced by 50%.
Knockback growth reduced 0.7 → 0.6.
Fixed an issue that caused this move to have significantly more shieldstun than intended.
Fixed an issue that would erroneously reduce this move’s 15 frame landing lag.
Fixed an issue that would prevent this move from grabbing ledges.
Fixed an issue where Cannonballs would instantly get destroyed when fired.
Hitbox can no longer “reverse” to send players in the opposite direction that the cannonball is moving.
Grab: Fixed a game crash in Target Test.
Fixed a bug that prevented players from standing on the top platform in Blackbeard’s Target Test.
Adjusted available palette count and order
Air Special was something we were wary of going into the release and it still overperformed compared to expectations. These are a series of changes that intend to bring it down a peg, along with a few fixes for issues we missed during development.
Dorothy:
Ground Special:
Increased ending lag by 3 frames.
Reduced projectile speed of the bricks.
Air Strong:
Horizontal momentum stop frame 1 → 9.
You must now fall a larger minimum distance to jump off the house.
Landing / Jumping off the house now puts you in an inactionable state for 20 frames.
Dorothy overall has been a strong performer since the game’s launch. We think most of her kit is fluid and fun to use, so we’ve decided to target Ground Special and Air Strong. These moves were generally pretty spammable but didn’t contribute to the fast playstyle her other moves push her toward. This should take some power out of the character without hurting her game feel.
Toto:
General:
Dash Speed 14 → 15.
Run Speed 12 → 13.
Running Jump Air Speed 12 → 13.
Air Strong:
Horizontal momentum stop frame 1 → 9.
Landing / Jumping off the house now puts you in an inactionable state for 15 frames.
We believe these two changes made to Dorothy’s Air Strong are generally good for game health, so similar changes are being made to Toto. As long as we’re making adjustments for Toto, we’re going to move Toto’s Ground Speed up a bit so he’s no longer tied for the slowest along characters like Bigfoot. Toto was made slow as part of the changes to differentiate his strengths from Dorothy, but the speed changes were a bit overdone.
Wet Floor Guy:
Dash Weak: Normalized friction reduction caused by the Wet Floor Sign.
Adjusted available palette count and order
The wet floor sign was functionally reducing friction for some states more than others. This being fixed will cause a slight reduction in sliding overall.
