Our Supporter Packs are back in the spotlight! In this article, we're revisiting the Ruinous and Cultured Supporter Packs while offering a first glimpse of something new on the horizon: the Vocative Supporter Pack. As mentioned in our previous article, Supporter Pack purchases and certain Patreon pledges specifically will go into a dedicated Vagrus fund. This will cover small content and feature changes for Vagrus. How much we can do, and how fast, depends on how full the fund jar gets.

Onwards then to the cosmetics in the Packs: first, we turn our attention to a Companion we haven't explored in our Supporter Pack article series yet.

Finndurarth in the Ruinous and Cultural Supporter Packs

In the ‘Ruinous’ Supporter Pack, the Dragonkin sorceress dons the deliberately somewhat muted attire of the Well-diggers, a faction of scholarly monks who specialize in growing plants and finding water in the otherwise barren volcanic wasteland. This is Finndurarth’s most modest attire to date, in line with the practicality of the sect’s almost monastic garb. Their colors are blue and orange, though some of their ranks also wear green. Sadly, by the time players get to Scrapheap in the main campaign, the Well-diggers are a dying breed. But perhaps one can change fate by finding them new prospects. This attire is not “canon”, of course, because the in-game Finndurarth would not and cannot join the Well-diggers despite her alignment with their peaceful solutions and willingness to grow and propagate.

For the attire gained from the ‘Cultured’ Supporter Pack, we decided to base Finn’s looks on Kalani Crystalmancers – a sub-type of arcane spellweavers from the distant province of Sargot Kala. They specialize in the creation and application of crystals that can store and unleash arcane energy at the behest of their bearer. Many spellweavers – other than their creators – use a wide variety of crystalline items crafted and imbued by Crystalmancers. The best of these mages hail from Sargot Kala, where the province’s many caleri (crystal forests), as well as the natural disposition of its people, result in the peak usage of the discipline. Since the blue-hued ceruleus crystal is the most common good-quality material for Crystalmancy (especially of the Kalani variety), these mages often wear colors of azure and ocean. Finn’s Kalani attire is complete with golden jewelry and crystal adornments, including pieces embedded into her very flesh – something advanced Crystalmancers are known to do in order to enhance certain traits and abilities. Naturally, Finndurarth is not a Crystalmancer, but in this alternative garb we wanted to explore that fantasy.

[p align="justify"]The continued development of Vagrus is made possible by the support of players like you.

[p align="justify"]Only a small fraction of Steam players ever leave a review, yet those reviews make a tremendous difference. If you haven't already, we'd be incredibly grateful if you could leave us a review on Steam. Every single one counts!

Vorax and Skornar in the Vocative Supporter Pack

Our upcoming Vocative Supporter Pack, even more than in previous packs, explores the idea that your companions took a different turn at a fateful point in their lives, and so ended up as different people. With some, this change is more marked than with others, but in all cases, it impacts their vocation (thus, the name).

Let’s look at two of the cosmetics today – the two fan favorites, Vorax and Skornar.

As for Vorax, we imagined him awakening as Undead, remembering nothing of his past, just like in his story in-game. However, despite his talent and love for cooking, he decided to tap into his other great asset: his silver tongue, rotted as it is. Yes, Vorax is a talker, although he might not come across as very good at speeches at first. In this alternative take on his life, he ended up blossoming into a fine public speaker, delivering news, announcing guests, and commentating gladiatorial games as a professional agitator. The wealth that comes with his station is apparent on his toga and accessories. He even tries to, well, improve his otherwise decaying visage.

Skornar was a great adventurer before he came to the continent of Xeryn. Even after being stranded here, his life was that of marauding and wandering before settling into a life of organized crime when growing older. In the Vocative alternate path, he never broke from his adventuring days as a Naran raider, nor did he get rid of or lose his people’s wargear. The runic axe, long-sleeved chainmail, and decorated helmet still match his original culture, as does his shield embossed with an image of a dragon-headed longship. Lastly, the raven on his tabard is an important symbol of the Naran religion: a herald of the very Gods.
