Expected update: Later today (October 24, Beijing time, UTC+8). The exact time will be announced separately.
This update brings improvements to both the Puppeteer and the Teleporter. The Puppeteer can reposition while chanting, while the Teleporter's return point is now set as soon as transformation is successfully activated—giving you more freedom to move and a more predictable place to return to. We're also improving outlines and addressing recent frame-rate and information-display issues.
Puppeteer: Move While You Chant
- You can now walk and look around freely during the chanting phase before taking control of your puppet, instead of having to stand still.
- Sprinting remains disabled during chanting. Movement bonuses from shoes still apply, while the Sedative's speed boost is temporarily suppressed. Its duration continues to count down normally.
- When puppet control ends, you return to the position where you finished chanting and began controlling your puppet.
Teleporter: A More Predictable Return Point
- Your return point is now recorded when transformation is successfully activated, rather than after the transformation transition, making it easier to plan where you will return.
Presentation Improvements
- Improved outlines for interactable objects, ability-based vision, and the dead-player view, reducing harsh edges, jagged lines, and halos during movement.
- Adjusted the fill colors and intensity of the haunting effect to make its stages easier to distinguish.
- Updated the male and female prayer voice lines for the side quest in Ancient Mansion and Old Alley. The lines loop throughout the prayer.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed excessive cloth simulation overhead from the Ghost Bride's red veil causing frame-rate drops during the Scarlet phase.
- Fixed the Parasite being unable to use self-kill with Q in Training Camp.
- Fixed player numbers in notes revealing other players' deaths before they should be disclosed during the night. Deaths that have not yet been revealed are shown after dawn.
- Fixed camera tilting and restricted camera turning while the Puppeteer was chanting.
Thank you for all your feedback. See you in the next night of deception!
