I hope you're doing well and that everything's going the way you want! Obviously, on my end, things are a bit of a mess, but that was expected.
Adding franchises is no small feat. Anyway, let me tell you all about it right away!
This week's recap
I'm right in the thick of it: the game history interface is getting a full overhaul. For now, there isn't much new, except that you can list by franchise or by game. And when you list by franchise, you can see each franchise's fatigue.

I know it doesn't look like much visually. But trust me when I say it took quite a few hours of development behind the scenes to get there. The thing is, there's almost no computation needed to display this list right now. But every button or piece of information I add means a bunch of new functions to write. Anyway, it's moving forward, you can see it for yourself, and I expect to have a first version of the franchise interface by next week.
On top of that, there's a change in how competitors work. Until now, when you started a game of City Game Studio, the number of competitors was set at the beginning. And the game did everything it could to keep that number constant. As you pointed out, that didn't feel very organic. So I changed it. Now, when you start a game, 2 to 4 competitors will appear. Then, regularly throughout the game, new competitors will show up, but only if there's room on the map and if you're below the maximum number of competitors set in your settings at the start of the game.
What's next
This time, I plan to add the main franchise banner, showing each franchise's key information. Then, as a second step, I'll add info about the best game, the best-selling game, and the latest release.
After that, I plan to add DLC and update information directly on the games.
That's it, now you know everything about the plan for the coming weeks. Adding franchises will let me evolve City Game Studio, and especially studio directors. I'll be able to give them more control over franchises, so I think you'll be able to assign franchises to studio directors. That would be pretty cool. Well, that's if I have time to do it before the release, which is still a few months away. We'll see.
I'll stop here, thanks for reading. See you next week for more. In the meantime, take care. Hugs
