We just pushed a small update to fix some issues and improve the game.
Here are the full patch notes:
New Stuff 🌟
General:
Every player now gets a hint for their own controls. After you join the local multiplayer session, a prompt shows you how to open your controls overlay. The hint disappears once you open the overlay so it's not in your way when playing.
Living Room:
Your webs reach further in a few tight spots. Some places are the right size for a room and slightly too wide for a spider. Rather than shrinking the room, your reach now stretches a little in the places that need it, starting with the area above the couch table.
Improvements 🚀
Main Menu:
The new main menu is now fully translated.
Story level names now appear under their picture on the menu board, so you can tell them apart at a glance.
The spider on the menu board now wears your actual color. It used to show the raw value from your wardrobe, which looked different from the spider you see in game.
General:
Interaction prompts turn to face the camera instantly instead of trailing behind, so the text stays readable on objects that move.
Coin collection animates more smoothly.
Living Room:
The Perfect Movie Night task is less fiddly. The ceiling lamps have a cleaner shape to attach a web to, and the extra reach above the couch table helps you get up there.
Kids Room:
Plushie stuffing material was changed to make it easier to spot.
Bug Fixes 🐞
General:
Fixed the big one: opening the pause menu or advancing a dialogue line no longer tanks the frame rate. This has been in the game since the multiplayer release and could drop it below 10 FPS.
Zooming with the mouse wheel no longer drops the frame rate. Holding a zoom used to cost you around half your frames.
Menu screens now always open with something selected, so they can be navigated on a controller. Some screens could open with nothing highlighted at all.
Fixed a row in the Experimental settings showing when it should not.
Living Room:
Eldon no longer gets stuck. If you cancelled the piano minigame, he kept telling you to hurry up and pluck the strings forever, with no way back to his other dialogue.
The interaction prompt on the ancient potions now faces the camera instead of pointing off into the room.
Fixed the wrongly scaled water trigger on the aquarium. No more paper spider mode in the living room level.
Kitchen:
The oven temperature indicator rotates again.
Kids Room:
Fixed the position of the first boost arrows on the toy track.
Cosmetics:
Fixed the lights on the siren hat.
If you still encounter any of these bugs or you find new ones, please let us know.
