We’re so excited to announce the launch of version 2.0 of The Mean Greens!

I know what you’re thinking: 2.0?! That’s a huge jump. Well, this is a huge update! We’ve completely reworked game’s back end, improving almost every system while keeping the same feel of the game you fell in love with.

Bots

One amazing improvement we’re sure you’ll love is a complete overhaul of the bots. They’re a lot smarter and no longer get stuck occasionally like they used to. They can use every weapon and play more like real people. Best of all, bots can now play on EVERY map! That’s right, you can now fire up a game against bots in Bathtub Bash or any other level you’ve always wanted to play against the computer. Another cool feature we’ve implemented is that these bots will automatically fill the server as people join or leave, so the action always stays intense!

Updated UI and Matchmaking

We’ve also completely overhauled the menus and matchmaking systems, making it easier to get into a game or host your own private match with your friends!

VIVERSE

We’re also launching The Mean Greens on VIVERSE! VIVERSE lets your friends join you in The Mean Greens without having to install anything on their computer... or their PHONE!

Along with the full version on VIVERSE. We’re also launching a FREE demo version of the game! So, if your friends want to try out the game without dropping any money, we have a version for that!

Best of all, all three versions \[Steam, VIVERSE (full game), VIVERSE (free demo)], are cross-play compatible!

Steam Deck

With this update The Mean Greens is fully compatible with Steam Deck allowing you to melt some plastic on the go.

New DLC

We’re also launching two new DLC characters today. Wrestling superstar Diamond Dallas Page joins the ranks and flexes his plastic-melting skills! And if that’s not enough to manage your excitement, perhaps Sonny Onoo can help! (See what I did there?).

Diamond Dallas Page is best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) during the 1990s, where he became a three-time World Heavyweight Champion and one of the company’s biggest fan favorites. With his signature Diamond Cutter and memorable battles against the nWo, DDP cemented his place in wrestling history and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. BANG!

Sonny Onoo became a familiar face to WCW fans during the 1990s, managing international stars such as Último Dragón and making his presence felt with colorful suits and memorable ringside antics. An accomplished martial artist in his own right, Onoo also played a key role behind the scenes. He helped arrange talent exchanges between WCW and New Japan Pro Wrestling that brought Japanese wrestling talent to American audiences.

Changelog

I know we normally end these update posts with a changelog, but I think if we added the changelog for this update, we’d likely hit the character limit. It’s that big of an update!

So, I’ll end this with a BIG thank you to everyone who’s played The Mean Greens, and a very special thank you to those of you still playing today. You’re amazing. Now grab your squad, fire up 2.0, and we’ll see you on the battlefield, soldier.
