That’s right, AdVenture Capitalist is coming back, better than ever!
You’ll be able to play AdVenture Capitalist with every update that mobile has seen over the years, all on your PC, and don’t worry! Mac support is on the way as well.
We know you’re going to have a bunch of questions, so we’ve written this handy-dandy article to outline what to expect with this update and how we’ll continue to support AdVenture Capitalist on Steam.
Is this a one time update? Will the Steam version of the game be supported long-term?
AdVenture Capitalist on Steam is here to stay.
The new and improved Steam version of the game will receive updates at the same time the mobile version of the game does, and will continue to receive updates as we go forward. This is continued, dedicated support for Steam the same way we’ve continued to bring updates to mobile.
We’re talking Events, Minigames, Planets & Destinations, the whole kit and kaboodle.
Will players on Steam be able to compete against those on mobile?
Yes! This version of the game won’t be isolated. You’ll be able to seamlessly compete against mobile players in Events.
This update won’t leave you locked into a PC only ecosystem, with solely Steam players being pitted against each other in the all-out cagefight that is the world of Capital. The Steam version of the game will be fully integrated alongside mobile.
Will Steam be getting Ads?
Nope! Steam won’t be getting ads. Instead, we’ll be introducing Flex Credits, a new currency you can purchase with Gold. Flex Credits will be used to claim the same bonuses you’d get from watching ads on mobile.
Do I get to keep my progress and purchases?
Progress does not carry over between versions. You’ll begin your Capitalist journey anew with this updated version of the game, with a whole host of new content to dig your teeth into.
There’s a massive amount of differences between the old and the new, and a fresh game will give you the opportunity to enjoy it step-by-step.
This means any shop purchases will not be carried over between versions, but you’ll always be able to access your original save and retain all progress there.
What happens to my old save?
You’ll still be able to play the original version of the game if you want to. For further information, we’ve written a technical article detailing everything you need to know about the changeover.
If you want to continue playing on your old save, on the old version of the game, you’ll have to opt out of the new one via the following steps:
Right-click the game in your Steam Inventory
Properties
Game Versions & Betas
Select the original version of the game.
From there, Steam will automatically install the original version of the game and it will be what boots when you click Play.
We’ve done our best to answer as many questions as possible here, and will be putting out a technical article in the coming weeks with further details about the changeover—but if something comes to mind you can find us in the Official Discord.
