Edition Upgrades

If you'd like to further support the development of Gray Zone Warfare, you can upgrade to one of the game’s higher editions.

Each edition includes gear, weapons, and resources, giving PMCs a stronger starting point and offering extra value to those backing the game’s continued development.

The highest edition is the Supporter Edition, which includes unique cosmetic apparel, a special designation, an exclusive morale patch, additional equipment, and the largest locker and lockbox. Supporter Edition owners also get early access to major updates through the Supporter Preview, several days before the full release.

Check out the full breakdown of all available editions in our latest article.

Soft Wipe

With Update 0.5, we are avoiding a full wipe and proceeding with a partial wipe instead. This will allow us to rebalance the in-game economy for the new update while letting players retain their progression and avoid having to grind from scratch.

Players will retain their progression from Update 0.4, including completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels, and statistics, while their locker and money will be wiped.

When first entering Update 0.5, players will need to choose which mode they want to transfer their existing character progression to. This action is irreversible. The faction stays the same.

What’s Next

Update 0.5 marks another major step forward in the development of Gray Zone Warfare and towards Ground Zero. But there’s still much more to come. Where others end, we begin.

We’ll continue supporting the game with regular patches, hotfixes, and ongoing improvements.  We’re also working on new features, content, and gameplay improvements for future major updates.

As always, your feedback plays an important role in shaping the future of the game. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the update. Please share your feedback and bug reports with us!

Every Move Matters,

UPDATE 0.5.0.1 CHANGELOG

Introduction

Update 0.5: Rogue Ops is here, introducing the Hideout, a new progression path where players gather resources, craft useful items, produce valuable goods, and take on risky smuggling operations. Three new Tier 4 points of interest bring new storylines to Lamang, while smarter AI introduces new challenges, including throwing grenades and executing downed players. We've also streamlined the health system to improve the combat experience.

[p align="start"]Players can now create up to four characters across factions and game modes, and new firearms such as the Benelli M4, FAMAS, and G36 join the arsenal alongside 370 new weapon parts.

[p align="start"]The update also introduces a seasonal soft wipe, allowing players to carry over their progression from Update 0.4 while their equipment and locker contents are reset.

New Features

Hideout

[p align="start"]“As players prepare to venture into Ground Zero, they choose how to build their legacy”

[p align="start"]The Hideout is one of the biggest additions in this update, introducing an entirely new progression path. Once players reach certain vendor ranks, they unlock their own Hideout and begin building their operation from the ground up.

[p align="start"]The Hideout also introduces new activities to Gray Zone Warfare, including crafting and production, giving players more ways to progress and earn money. This is only the first iteration of the Hideout system, and we plan to expand it further in future updates.

Rooms

[p align="start"]The Hideout consists of two main production rooms and a utility room, giving players the freedom to choose which path to focus on.

Stations

[p align="start"]Each Hideout room contains several stations that players can build and upgrade to expand their production capabilities. The stations also change visually as they're upgraded, reflecting the player's progress.

[p align="start"]Building and upgrading stations require resources found throughout the world, obtained through crafting, purchased from vendors, or earned as task rewards.

Crafting

[p align="start"]Players can find crafting materials and recipes throughout the world and use them to create various items based on their Hideout progression.

[p align="start"]Starting with basic materials and products they can sell, players gradually unlock the ability to craft more valuable items and useful tools, including stims, tracking tags, and hacking tools.

[p align="start"]Profits from selling these products can help fund further Hideout upgrades. Players can choose to sell their products to vendors for a lower but safer payout or take the risk of smuggling them for potentially greater rewards.

Hacking

[p align="start"]Hacking gives players another way to bypass certain locks without needing a key or code, opening access to restricted areas and valuable loot.

[p align="start"]Players can hack electronic locks secured by keypads and card readers, provided they have an appropriate hacking device in their inventory. The universal hacking tool comes in three tiers, giving players access to different levels of electronic security as they progress. In some cases, hacking may be the only way to access an area or open a locked safe.

Smuggling & Hunting

[p align="start"]Smuggling introduces time-limited challenges where players prepare high-value cargo using resources produced in their Hideouts and attempt to deliver it to designated locations.

[p align="start"]Once players accept a smuggling task, they have limited time to prepare the required resources, collect the contraband backpack from its pickup location, and complete the delivery. Successful smuggling runs reward players with money and vendor reputation.

[p align="start"]But beware, smuggling is no walk in the park. Accepting a smuggling task alerts players from opposing factions and creates Hunting zones on the map, indicating areas where smuggling activity is taking place.

[p align="start"]Hunters can attempt to intercept smugglers and disrupt their operations to earn experience and vendor reputation. In PvE mode, smugglers face AI enemies instead of opposing players.

Notable Changes

Multiple Characters

Seasonal Soft Wipe

Streamlined Health System

AI

[p align="start"]New out-of-combat animations make Lamang feel more alive. AI NPCs now drink, check their phones, and go about their daily routines, making their behavior feel more natural.

[p align="start"]We've also made significant improvements to AI behavior during combat:

World Updates

New Locations

[p align="start"]Three brand-new Tier 4 points of interest bring more dangerous challenges and new storylines that expand the lore of Lamang and its complicated history. We've also added more than 15 smaller locations, including drug huts (more information below), apartment buildings, and underground tunnels.

[p align="start"]The three new Tier 4 locations are:

[p align="start"]RLSL-1 (Radio Observatory)

[p align="start"]Lakevale Sanctuary (Asylum)

[p align="start"]Northern Reach (Military Research Site)

Drug Huts

[p align="start"]Hidden throughout Lamang are locations connected to the island's drug trade. Controlled by various factions, these drug huts can be raided by players to obtain valuable resources for production in their Hideout Laboratories.

Changes to the Combat Outpost System

[p align="start"]We've reworked the Combat Outpost (COP) system. Major COPs have been temporarily decommissioned. These locations remain in the world but no longer function as contestable outposts.

[p align="start"]To compensate for this change, we've redistributed the existing minor COPs to provide more even coverage across the world map and create more natural stopping points as players progress through Lamang's regions.

[p align="start"]This change also affects Vulture. Previously available only at two major COPs on a rotating schedule, Vulture is now a regular vendor, accessible to all players at the base camp or at COPs.
