Update #107: Down by the Black Soup

Cyber Knights: Flashpoint · Community Announcements · October 22, 2026

Read the original on Steam ↗

Knights and mercs - we've been on a steady diet of new maps these last 2 months, and this is now the 5th one we've added. Long Wharf Ruins is especially exciting as it rolls out an entirely new map format we haven't tried before, using new environmental hazards to spice up the paths, options and sightlines for this one. Down by the docks, where the deals get done ... or the Cyber Knights kill you. We've also resolved a few issues with story dialog and assassin VIP missions and improved some of the tools in the hands of the modder preview team. Thanks to everyone for playing and posting this week.

Our Save Game Policy and Updates

As always, we take your saved games very, very seriously. Since you'll always be seeing a lot of updates around here, we want to reiterate our saved game policy so everyone understands our commitment to your games. No saved game will ever be invalidated by an update. All new content and features will be added immediately to all saved games (with the reasonable exception of New Game options). You never have to restart if you don't want to. This is a studio commitment that we have made and kept for many years and games. We stand by it. So do not stress about the many updates that will continue to come - heist on my good heisters.

Modders have Preview Modkit!

The modkit preview project is continuing at a great pace with lots of exciting developments. Each new update of the game is also packed with new valuable updates for the modding team as we continue to expand what they can do and respond to their questions and requests. This preview process will go on for a bit as we welcome additional interested modders into the group in waves, but will wrap up before the end of the year.

Steam Workshop support and the exciting list of mods that will come with the launch will be released before the end of 2026! Let's get ready to play!

If you are a modder who is interested in getting early preview access to our modding tools, please let us know you're interested here: https://forms.gle/EHHKHFFjU6Yo7G1Y6 and we will reach out soon.

Update #106 includes a new commands for the modder console to help speed up the pace of testing mod stories.

New Map: Long Wharf Ruins

The Long Wharf Ruin rolls out an entirely new and unique map format, where the heist happens in the old dilapidated ruins along some stretch of the harbor or underground river. While it may not host regular shipping traffic and no one has fished in half a century ... that doesn't mean that this water-side ruin doesn't see a heavy buzz of illicit commerce. This is the kind of slimy place where the deals get done and if they don't, any bodies get dumped right into the green toxic glow.

With the addition of Long Wharf Ruin, the map can support 15 additional proc-gen objectives and it can be massively fun to snipe a VIP from across the water! It is also a lot of fun for hacking CPUs as any kind of "there and back" traversal can be pretty difficult on its large but broken loop (you can't go all the way around ... unless you're going to swim!)

This brings the total of proc-gen combos (map X objective) to 487!

v2.7.101 - #107: Down by the Black Soup

- Added unique new map to the game for a total of +15 new proc-gen combos among ruined wharves, toxic water and crumbling piers

- New Map: Long Wharf Ruins is a new ocean-side map format, built in a large semi-circle around a toxic body of water

- Fixed issues with dialog when taking out the assassination VIP playing twice

- Fixed issues with some lines of dialog appearing as duplicates of a previous line

- Added new story testing options for modkit preview team
