Greetings, fellow adventurers! This is the Elin State of the Game editorial team. We'd like to share Elin-related news that have been sent in from all over Ylva this month as well. This is the October issue of “Elin State of the Game,” out on Nyan Nyan Day (the 22nd), as always. The world holds many secrets.

Check it all out!
Last month saw the release of a new stable update, opening up the Old Keep map, adding new furniture, introducing the new Relic equipment slot and the ★Embryolith relic, and opening a dried mandrake shop. Relics now give you access to a variety of abilities that consume stamina, so stamina spent on combat abilities has been changed to count as a temporary reduction. This makes stamina-powered abilities easier to use, even without a means of absorbing stamina. There have been plenty of other updates as well. (For details on all updates, see Ylvapedia)
Everyone Has a Past They’d Rather Keep Secret
There is now a certain way to obtain an item called the “★Embarrassing Past Notebook.” An endless stream of fantasies, cool spell incantations... When you wrote them all down, you must have been absolutely convinced they were brilliant. But the moment you come to your senses, they become memories you'd rather bury. If anyone ever reads them, you'll suffer the torments of hell.

Does That Actually Grow Out of Your Body?
You can now “shear” the Forest Putits you occasionally encounter in Nefia. Keep some Forest Putits at your base, and you'll have a regular supply of Big Leaves, which come in handy for all sorts of things. Whether these leaves actually count as their “fur” remains a mystery.

A Familiar Sight in School Infirmaries and Hospitals
From here on, we're bringing you a sneak peek of the dev build. First up are these height and weight scales. Part of the school-themed furniture added in recent updates, they let you measure your height and weight simply by stepping onto them. Of course, you can measure your companions and residents too. Adventurers who want to keep a close eye on everyone's growth will definitely want to get their hands on these.

Rumors of a Black Notebook
Quite apart from the Embarrassing Past Notebook, rumors are spreading about a suspicious “Black Notebook.” Rather than making you die of embarrassment when someone reads it, this sinister item apparently kills anyone whose name is written inside. If something like that really existed, it could plunge the whole world into chaos...

Official Illustration Introduction ~ Lumiest Gallery
This time, the illustration we're featuring by Elin illustrator NZ is the concept art for a character called “Kanarie.” But doesn't she look unmistakably like...?

As it turns out, this girl was later renamed “Quruitzia.” We can't help wondering what kind of girl Kanarie was meant to be. Perhaps there could have been a completely different story from the Elin we know today.

Next up, here's some news from the community keeping Elin so lively!
Why Not Try a Different Race?
Have you ever started a new game intending to try a race you've never played before, only to end up choosing your favorite again? This time, we'd like to introduce a player-made video: “Suzune's Elin Character Creation Guide.” Clocking in at an impressive hour and a half, it clearly explains what to keep in mind when creating a character, the characteristics of each race, and more. There are timestamps for each race, too. Why not check out one that interests you and set off on a new adventure?
There are many activities and works by adventurers that make the Elin community livelier, and this is only a part of them. If any creator names are incorrect, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

Housing is life. In fact, it’s deeper than life itself. This time, we tried something new by inviting housing screenshots through the Elin State of the Game X account, and received plenty of submissions. Let's take a look at these maps, each brimming with its creator's personality.
Happy Halloween!!

Here's a nighttime view of the Great Library from my recently published user map, “The Anthropomorphic King's Manor (Starting Meadow).”
Under the care of the head librarian, a Seeker who moved in before anyone quite realized it, its vast collection of books is open to the public. Slan, Kettle, and Demitas are among the regular visitors.
Rumor has it that somewhere in this library, there may or may not be a secret passage...

I tried my hand at housing!

I built a little house for Loytel as a thank-you for being with me almost from the very beginning of my first playthrough. I even put his favorite food in my house on the table.

An inn beneath the sea, where that turtle (Paladin) you once rescued might just show you around. A footbath and tea room are also available.

I built this town with the following backstory in mind: “Mechanical ruins along the border between Palmia and Mayroon, converted into a waystation and post town.”

We're still accepting fan work submissions and housing screenshots from adventurers for “Elin State of the Game”! We're accepting submissions in various formats, including illustrations, photos, music, and videos. We'd love to see your work grace the pages of “Elin State of the Game”!

Thanks to all the adventurers who’ve sent in messages through the reader submission form! Now it’s time for the Adventurer Q&A Box!
The development team will personally answer the questions submitted through the form!
What does Lady Jure do when she's alone? Also, what kinds of cute (?) interactions does she have with other creatures and characters? (I'm asking so I can draw some slightly unusual fan art.) (From 撒娇的幼猫, original in Chinese)
I picture her having fairly ordinary hobbies: gardening, knitting, having tea by herself, and collecting unusual stones and seashells from the outside world. She's usually busy with worship services and official duties, and a Defender is always at her side, so she doesn't get much time to herself.
Whenever she finds an injured creature, she can't leave it alone and has a habit of quietly healing it. She can be a little overprotective, though. Once she's treated you, she'll fuss over you or give you a little lecture every time you meet, so the forest animals find her a bit of a handful.
Hello, I was wondering if there are any plans for a 'creative' mode (spawning items, mobs, god mode etc.) in the future, and if yes, is this something planned after full release of the game? (From Ratman)
There are no plans to implement Creative Mode as a standalone mode. The development mode, which you can launch using the “-DEV” option, serves as a sort of Creative Mode. It's intended for things like freely creating maps for mods. I make all of Elin's maps in this development mode myself.
Do the gods, nations, guilds, and other organizations of Ylva have established flags, coats of arms, or symbols? While drawing a portrait, I suddenly wondered whether each god had a specific emblem that followers might wear or display on their clothing and equipment. (From kwsk, original in Japanese)
Yes, several nations and organizations, including Palmia, Yerles, Eulderna, and Mysilia, have established coats of arms. There may be some reference material in the in-game gallery, too. NZ seems to like heraldry, so if you look closely at characters from royal families and the like, you'll often spot coats of arms in their designs. I'm sorry I can't provide them right away, but I'd love to feature illustrations of these coats of arms and the gods' symbols in Elin State of the Game sometime soon.
I'd like to give Kettle an engagement ring, but whenever I think of Lady Lulwy, I worry that it would be cruel to him (emotionally, that is). Because of that, I haven't used the marriage feature even once since it was introduced. Do you think Lady Lulwy would give me her blessing if I prayed to her for three days and three nights? (From Wanya, original in Japanese)
There is no right answer in love. Adventurers are free to choose whom they love and whom they marry. Surely what matters more than the goddess's blessing is making a choice you won't regret? The question is how Kettle feels, but I'm sure time will sort that out!
We're still accepting questions from adventurers for “Elin State of the Game!” While we may not be able to feature all of them due to space limitations, we will read through all submitted questions and continue to answer them in future issues. The entire editorial team is eagerly awaiting your questions!

Hello everyone, this is noa. Time flies! Next month, Elin will enter its second year of Early Access. I haven't quite had the time to get started on anniversary events or updates yet, but I'd like to make releasing illustrations of the gods an annual tradition. Speaking of anniversaries, Elin State of the Game will celebrate its first anniversary the month after next. I'd love to get together with the editorial team and plan something for that! Stay tuned for next month's Elin State of the Game!
