First off, and honestly, thank you so much for the response to Star Trek: Outposts Unknown so far. Whether negative or positive, we are truly listening to all feedback.
This clearly isn’t what a lot of you had hoped for in a new Star Trek title, and we’d like to begin by addressing some your concerns with Update 1.0.1:
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where Exploration Point recipes were not showing in the UI when being worked on.
Fixed an issue where crew would not pick up resources from the Resupply drops until the nav mesh was updated.
Fixed an issue where passengers in passenger vehicles would leave to do other tasks, causing the vehicle to get stuck.
Planetary sensors not connected to power will now properly power off after save/load.
Crew assigned to investigate Exploration Points during night shift should no longer go missing.
Fixed an issue where assignment slots on the Planetary Habitat would switch and get replaced.
X’Lehari Hydrolift Exploration Point will now produce water.
Crew should no longer get stuck trying to deliver resources between the Cargo Landing Pad and Planetary Kitchen.
Fixed an exception report when beaming down a resupply on a resource crate.
Large Storage Pad’s footprint is now correct when rotated.
Buildings should no longer show damaged state after being repaired.
Content
Added names to many of the Exploration Points in game (English).
Rift Core in the Voyage map is much brighter now on Very Low settings.
Doors on Passenger Vehicles pads no longer float in air.
QoL Improvements
F9 Bug Report key now works in the main menu.
Tetryon Impact Sites hidden in fog of war should be easier to uncover.
Faster opening of Tech Tree menu.
Removed the extra collected data sample in the inventory management.
This update is the first of many in our mission to support Star Trek: Outposts Unknown. We are actively reviewing your posts, reviews, and streams to formulate a plan in the coming weeks to make the meaningful improvements and fixes you’d expect from us.
For now, we want to share our thoughts on these broad pillars for improvement:
The pacing of the game is slow, especially around the beginning tutorialization, the day/night cycle, and later task prioritization. Our game is a complex logistics management game with over 55 unique resources, but the discovery of these systems and how that complexity is absorbed are areas we need to improve on. Localization errors are also being rectified, and numerous quality of life improvements are scheduled, like how upkeep systems such as power management are understood, and how clear building footprints appear before you place a structure.
Today’s update is the first of many and our plans are to support the game. We’ll have more detailed information for you in the coming weeks on what to expect with our next steps.
Thanks for your support. We’re listening in all places, but the best place to have a conversation with us is over Discord!
