Friends, we are ready to present to you the first major update 0.8.0 for PropHunter!
The development of this update took a lot of time and effort from us. First of all, we are grateful to all the players who stay in touch with us, those who continue to play and follow the updates.
Honestly, if we were to write a patch note for every single item that was changed in the update... It would be much easier to list what remained unchanged!
Core
The main change in this version is hidden "under the hood" — we have completely rewritten the game's core. At the start of the project, we lacked experience, which led to an accumulated technical debt: the old code often spawned bugs, and implementing every new mechanic or ability turned into torture. We have completely rewritten the project's architecture, and now our hands are finally untied to create new content!
Gameplay
We tried to make the gameplay more dynamic, enjoyable, and interesting! We took our experience into account and worked on our past mistakes.
Character controls have become more responsive;
Changed the ability selection window, now it's a familiar selection wheel;
Changed the bomb throw. The flight trajectory has now become more predictable, so we are removing the throw trajectory marker;
Props can now fully fight back against their offenders! You just need to approach and attack, but only if the server owner has allowed defending;
Added support for push-to-talk in-game voice chat. In the game settings under the "Audio" section, you can adjust your microphone boost and the voice volume of other players;
Rebalanced weapons, tweaked incoming damage, and adjusted recoil when firing;
Rebalanced ability cooldowns (some abilities took unreasonably long to recharge, we will be closely monitoring your feedback);
Props placed on the map can be destroyed. They will restore themselves after a while;
Improved the object carrying mechanics;
Fixed the first-person view;
Maps and Graphics
The boundaries on some maps have been changed;
Updated the visual appearance of bonuses;
Graphics have become brighter, more vibrant, and closer to the style we originally envisioned!
And on the eve of Halloween, we are adding a new themed map to the game - Lava Cave!
To be honest, we tried our best to release the update as early as possible. We hope you appreciate our efforts! Due to the difficulties during the development process of the current update, we only released minor updates with new maps. We might talk more about the development process later.
