But perhaps the biggest change has happened outside the game. Megz has stepped well beyond her comfort zone and into cosplay, combining her love of Albion with the creativity she once used professionally as a hairdresser. She has already handmade an Earthdaughter costume and transformed herself into a Dragon, with more planned for the future. For someone who describes herself as naturally shy and awkward, putting herself out there in an entirely new way has become one of the things she is proudest of.
Thankfully, despite her growing self-assurance, Megz remains as delightfully awkward on stream as ever. Viewers can redeem five minutes of compulsory gibberish, preferably at the most inconvenient possible moment, or send her to the Wheel of Torture, where punishments include hot sauce, speaking entirely in third person, or attempting a Depths run blindfolded. Growing confidence apparently does not mean growing dignity.
That combination of creativity, community participation, and willingness to make herself part of the joke is what Megz brings back to the Ambassador program. She wants Albion to feel approachable, whether that means welcoming someone into her community, showing that intimidating parts of the game can still be enjoyed without taking everything too seriously, or giving other creators around her space to shine as well. And after spending much of Dragonfire caught up in alliance responsibilities and a lengthy war, Megz finally has something much simpler on the agenda: dragons!
