Hey, good Janitors of Aurora 5!
Thank you for all your precious feedback, bug reports, and insight! We're constantly working on improving the game - doing not just bug fixes, but also rebalancing and quality-of-life changes too. Our second update is finally here, with plenty of killed bugs, fixed softlock issues, re-balancing changes, and new features.
Please read the changelog below (build 6584):
Save System:
You can use the save and exit feature in 1999 and Russ Kurtell modes without needing to check the "protected quicksaves" checkbox.
From now on, you can have 3 auto-saves and 3 quick saves instead of the previous 2. This gives you a total of 6 saves, if you also use the “protected quicksaves” feature.

Softlocks and progression:
We fixed the "Dahlia vs Machine Brain" softlock issue that caused progression blocks for several players. This also retroactively fixes the progression for those who got stuck there - you don't have to start a new game.
For some players the Secret Weapon either dissapeared or never appeared in the first place after saving and loading during the last phase of Marco's quest. It is fixed now.

Balancing and economy:
The 1999 and Russ Kurtell modes were a bit too easy for huge majority of the players. We adjusted some of it's values to be a bit harder, but not too much that it's altering the core experience in a fundametal way.
The prices were too low and enemy loot was too generous on the two highest difficulities. This was also adjusted a bit.
Bosses - the 3 main bosses were a bit too easy on every difficulity (even on the normal "classic horror" mode), we give them approx 20% more HP. (But all their other values remained the same!) These changes won't affect the secret boss.
Note: You don't need to start a new game for any of these changes, you can continue playing the game without problems.

Bugfixes and tweaks:
There was another duplicated audio log (history lesson 1), so we deleted the wrong one.
We put an extra flare gun to the janitors haven, and one to the Borealis Gardens - dark timeline. (there was only 2 before in the entire game)
The alarm sound at the start of the game is now less loud.
We further tweaked the flashlight, so it is stronger and brighter now, without being too overwhelming.
We also fixed a lot of smaller issues, some are graphical, others are feature or progression related.

Performance:
We are constanlty updating the performance of the game and did a minor performance update in this patch too, but don't expect huge changes yet, the big performance update is the next on our list. (see roadmap below...)
Steam Deck:
The Deck now has a 30 FPS lock function the player can activate or deactivate from the menu. This is so that we can achieve consistent and steady performance without overheating the deck. More significant optimalizations and consistently higher frame rate is also on their way, so stay tuned for more!
Next time on RetroSpace (roadmap):
Our third update will focus on optimalization on every platform, so both PC and SteamDeck players can expect significant leaps in performance soon. In addition, we will, of course, continue fixing other bugs, and you can also expect some minor quality-of-life changes.
Our fourth update will be a bigger one, in this, expect significant quality-of-life updates, new features, new difficulty, refined gunplay, inventory and map updates, and many-many more.
Stay tuned, and stay groovy, Janitors! Keep up the good work, send us bug reports, your ideas, insights, and suggestions - without your support and dedication, we won't be here! So thank you for that! - The Team
