Rodina 1.7 beta is available!
Rodina 1.7 is almost out and I could use your help testing it! As you know this update has lots of stuff including:
Total physics replacement from Havok to Jolt physics
Planetary-scale shadowmaps (not interiors yet)
Procedural rock fields
Total gravbike dynamics revamp
New clustered lighting renderer
64 bit release
Please feel free to switch to the beta branch in Steam to try it out and give feedback of all kinds, specifically regarding new features and also regarding performance. There is a LOT new under the hood so anything could go wrong! Steam Library -> right click Rodina -> Properties -> Game Versions & Betas -> choose "beta" (As always, it is a good idea to make backups of your saves (in the UserData folder) just in case!)
New Options:
This update adds many new systems to Rodina. Please see the new options "Rock Density" and "Shadow Quality", as well as our old friend "Terrain Detail". With the new systems (rocks, shadows, terrain management differences) you may see a perfomance hit with 1.7! Try these options out to help me balance the update as I haven't settled on default values.
F11
In order to bring up the debug panel, hit F11. It shows performance graphs including the game's performance in milliseconds (ms), which can be helpful for identifying bad perf!
