We have some news many of you might appreciate:
As of today, Against the Storm achievements on Steam are organized into separate sets for the base game and each DLC.
This means you can get 100% achievement completion in the base game without having to own the DLCs. This is now possible because Steam rolled out a beta version of the Achievement Sets feature. This is another welcome addition from Valve, and we jumped on it right away.
⚠️ Currently, this feature is only available in the Steam Client Beta channel, and is planned to be released more widely later in the future.
We've always considered this a valid pain point for completionist players (we have achievement hunters on our team as well), and it created a dilemma for us when we released the DLCs.
Some achievement hunters just want more challenges to strive for. Others deeply care about their 100% completion and don't want to see it broken every time their games receive a DLC.
So, back in 2024, before releasing Keepers of the Stone, we first consulted you, the community, on this matter. We asked players if they would like Against the Storm DLCs to have achievements. We emphasized that, due to how achievements work on Steam, 100% completion would require owning all the DLCs. In the poll, 86% of players voted for having achievements in the DLCs.
We added the achievements, but we knew that there was a significant group that would be disappointed to see their perfect score gone.
Fortunately, this is no longer the case!
