Dear APEWAR Community,
With update v1.0.0.3, we're introducing a wide range of improvements and new features designed to make your gameplay experience smoother, more balanced, and more stable!
This update focuses on introducing a new tutorial system, improving server infrastructure, optimizing performance, adjusting gameplay balance, and fixing issues reported by our community.
🎓 NEW FEATURE: TUTORIAL SYSTEM
A brand-new Tutorial System has been added for players who are new to APEWAR!
The new tutorial system helps newcomers learn the game's core mechanics and gameplay features more easily.
And tutorials aren't just for new players! You can access and replay tutorials anytime directly from the main menu to refresh your knowledge and improve your skills.
🌐 SERVER, CONNECTION & MATCHMAKING IMPROVEMENTS
Room Creation: Fixed an issue preventing some players from creating new rooms.
Joining Rooms: Resolved an issue that caused players to get stuck on a black screen when joining a room.
Server Transitions: Fixed connection issues occurring during server transitions, providing a more stable experience.
Quick Match: Improved the matchmaking system. The system now prioritizes matching players with others of similar ranks whenever possible.
🍌 STORE & PURCHASE SYSTEM
Steam Banana Purchases
Fixed connection issues affecting Banana purchases through Steam. Additional improvements have been made to ensure a more reliable and seamless purchasing experience.
Weapon Purchase Bug
Due to a server-side issue, some weapon purchases were completed without deducting the required amount of Bananas from players' balances.
This issue has been fully resolved. To maintain a fair in-game economy, all weapons obtained by exploiting this bug have been removed from the affected players' accounts.
⚡ PERFORMANCE & OPTIMIZATION
Major Performance Improvements on Monkeyistan
An issue involving minimap calculations on the Monkeyistan map was causing excessive CPU usage and resulting in the scene being rendered twice.
This issue, which caused significant FPS drops, has been fully resolved, improving overall map performance.
Login Screen & Main Menu FPS Optimization
Previously, the login screen and main menu had no FPS limit, which could result in unnecessary GPU and CPU usage.
To prevent excessive system resource consumption, a maximum FPS limit of 120 has been implemented for both the login screen and main menu.
Minimap Fixes
Fixed issues that prevented minimaps from displaying correctly on the following maps:
Monkeyistan
Racetrack
Oceans Rooms
🛠️ BUG FIXES & UI IMPROVEMENTS
Emote System: Fixed an exploit that allowed players to gain excessive movement speed bonuses while using emotes.
Rage Ability: Fixed an issue that could cause certain players to become invisible when using the Rage ability.
Scoreboard: Redesigned the in-game scoreboard with a cleaner and more organized interface.
Leave Room Confirmation: Added a confirmation dialog when selecting the Leave Room button. Players can now confirm or cancel their decision before leaving a room.
Localization & Translations: Reviewed and corrected missing, inaccurate, and inconsistent translations across all supported languages. Additional translations and text improvements have also been implemented.
🔊 AUDIO SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
Improved Emote Sound Effects
3D Positional Audio: Emote sound effects now use 3D spatial audio. Sounds are heard based on the player's position and distance from other players, creating a more natural in-game audio experience.
Continuous Sound Playback: Fixed an issue where emote sound effects could stop prematurely. Sound effects now continue playing for as long as the emote animation remains active.
These improvements are designed to make emote interactions feel more natural and immersive within the game world.
⚔️ GAMEPLAY & BALANCE CHANGES
Several gameplay mechanics have been adjusted to create a more balanced and competitive experience.
Vehicle & Equipment Balance
Helicopter collision damage has been reduced by 20%.
LittleApe Bomb:
Explosion Damage: 200 → 100 (50% reduction)
Effect Radius: 250 → 120 (52% reduction)
Player Mechanics
Spawn Protection Duration: 3 → 6 seconds
Respawn Delay: 3 → 5 seconds
Suicide Limit per Match: 10 → 5
Team Switch Limit per Match: 5 → 3
Scoring System
Score rewards have been increased to better recognize individual player performance.
Kill Score: 50 → 75 (50% increase)
Headshot Score: 35 → 50
🛡️ ROOM MANAGEMENT & AFK SYSTEM
New AFK Detection System
An automatic AFK detection system has been activated to help maintain active and balanced matches.
Players who remain inactive for 120 seconds (2 minutes) will now be automatically removed from the room.
Changes to the Player Kick System
The existing system that allowed room hosts to directly remove players has been removed.
We plan to reintroduce this feature in a future update as a Vote Kick system, allowing players to collectively decide whether someone should be removed from a match.
