Hayo Zookeepers!

We hope you’ve been enjoying your first 24 hours in the wilder world of Planet Zoo 2. With so many videos, screenshots and blueprints already shared, we are thrilled that so many of you are joining us on this incredible adventure together, already surpassing our all-time concurrent player record for the original Planet Zoo. Thank you so much for your support.

At 2pm BST today, we put out our first post-release update, tackling a number of key concerns you’ve highlighted so far. From DLSS and FSR fixes, to keybinds, audio distortion and stability fixes, you can find the full list here. The team are continuing to work on additional fixes and improvements, with another update planned to arrive this Friday, ahead of the weekend. Please continue submitting any issues you run into via our issue tracker, so that we can investigate these as quickly as possible and ensure these are resolved for all zookeepers.

We are also continuing to investigate key areas for improvement, such as animals climbing, escaping and using their enrichments. These will continue to be high on our priority list, to ensure each animal behaves as naturally as possible, to fully immerse you in your conservation journey.

Franchise Mode

Please be aware that tomorrow (Thursday 15 October) there will be a short window of planned maintenance.  This is expected to take place around 07:00 BST (02:00 EDT / 01:00 CDT), during which time online features, such as Franchise mode and the Workshop will be unavailable. We anticipate the downtime to last for approximately one hour. The team have already made some significant changes behind the scenes on Franchise mode stability and increasing the availability of species in Animal Trading.

Accreditation

We’ve heard your feedback around accreditation rating requirements, and our team are currently investigating this. We’ve also seen a little confusion in how accreditation works and want to clarify that your accreditation is entirely separate for each game mode, meaning there is no requirement to play Career mode to improve your franchise accreditation rating or vice versa. Progressing further into Career will not advance your Franchise accreditation.

In Career Mode, your Accreditation Tier is increased by gaining medals from scenario zoos and Wildlife Reserves.

In Franchise Mode, increase your Accreditation Tier by having zoos with a high Zoo Reputation, and Wildlife Reserves with a high Biodiversity Rating.

We also want to take a moment to share some essential resources, and tackle some of the questions you’ve been asking as you’ve taken your first steps into the game.

Guides

Our team have pulled together some informative guides to help provide detailed information if you’re seeking guidance on specific areas of Planet Zoo 2. Make sure to check out the in-game help section, or head to our website!

Essentials Filter

A useful feature for those new to the game, and great when you know what you need and want to grab it quickly! The Essentials filter narrows down your item browser to show only items and blueprints that have a specific function such as facilities and habitat items. We added this to allow you to easily find things like Donation Bins or Shop Blueprints and get your zoo up and running. Toggling the filter off will show all items for that browser tab.

Thank you once again for your continued support and love for Planet Zoo 2. Together we can build a wilder world, and we can’t wait to do that alongside you.
