We would like to share an update on the controller input issue that has occurred in some environments since September.
In September, an issue occurred in the Steam client where a single controller was recognized as two controllers when using Steam Input.
As a result, a single input was being sent twice in Little Witch in the Woods as well, causing issues such as input restrictions not working properly in some situations or buttons registering twice.
The following issues have been confirmed as typical examples:
The same dialogue starting again immediately after a dialogue ends
Being able to sprint in sections where only walking should be possible
Difficulty selecting some tools, such as the Bug Net
Button inputs being processed twice instead of once
Since late September, we have received multiple reports regarding this issue and have been investigating the cause. We have confirmed that the issue is not caused by the game's own input handling, but is related to the Steam client recognizing controllers twice.
We have now confirmed that this issue has been resolved in the latest Steam client released on October 13.
If you are experiencing the controller input issues described above, please update your Steam client to the latest version and restart Steam.
If the same issue persists even after updating the Steam client to the latest version, we apologize for the inconvenience, but please report it to us again and we will look into it.
