It's been exactly 10 months since Cult of the Yellow King first entered Early Access, and a lot has changed!!
What we thought would be a month or two of adding a few features and fixing bugs turned into something much bigger. (Thanks to you.) Here are some of the biggest additions we've made
👑 Imperial Dynasty
Create the Yellow Sign and spread it across the world!
With the Imperial Dynasty, you can issue Imperial Decrees and purchase up to 4 additional buffs to strengthen your cult.
🔥 Biomass Furnace
Your followers have served their purpose. Now they can serve another.
Sacrifice your generators in the Biomass Furnace to produce Biomass, a new resource you can spend on powerful upgrades.
🌌 The Crossing
The road to Carcosa awaits.
The Crossing is a new feature and the final step on your journey to Carcosa.
🏛️ Rites of the Yellow Architect
One of our favorite additions, especially for players who love experimenting with different builds.
Sacrifice everything. (YES. EVERYTHING.) Then start over and rebuild your production around Shrines and Altars.
With the right upgrades and a bit of planning, this can become one of the most efficient builds in the game!
✍️ Writer's Room & Writers
The cult has found a new way to spread its influence.
The Writer's Room introduces Writers, a new generator that adds another layer to your resource production and progression.
🗝️ 15 New Relics and Upgrades
We've added 15 new relics, giving you more ways to customize your playstyle!
Unlocked at Prestige 4, the new Relic Upgrade System lets you improve your relics through multiple levels. Some relics gain significantly different bonuses at their final level, so check what they can become before planning your next build!
💔 Relics Can Now Be Removed!
We heard you!! Relics are no longer permanently locked into their slots.
One of the things our Early Access community asked for was the ability to change equipped relics without being permanently stuck with a decision. Well, now you can!
🎵 3 New Tracks by Merhum
We've added 3 new tracks by Merhum, the Turkish black metal band behind the game's soundtrack.
🎨15 New Story Illustrations
More hand-drawn illustrations have been added throughout the story, bringing more of the journey toward Carcosa to life.
And those are just the bigger additions! There's also been a lot of balancing, progression changes, quality-of-life improvements, fixes, and smaller additions throughout Early Access, thanks to your feedback.

Whats Next?
A leaderboard ?!
We're trying something fun and hoping to add a leaderboard before the end of this week. It's something we'd like to experiment with, so we'd love to hear what you think.
More languages
You might've spotted Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese in the localization credits! Some lovely people from our community are helping us translate the game into both languages. It's all volunteer work, so there's no rush. They'll be ready when they're ready! (Have I mentioned that I love our community💛)
Art & Storybook
We've mentioned this in a few Steam discussions, but let's make it official: we're working on an Art & Storybook, featuring the full story from the game, artwork, and some extras!
We're in our Vermis era, and it inspired us a lot while putting this book together. Hopefully that inspiration comes through and you'll like what we've made!
We planned to release it alongside 1.0, but I (Bilge) messed up some Steamworks stuff, and it couldn't get through review in time :((
We're now aiming for October 26, during Steam Scream Fest. Fingers crossed I get it right this time.
Soundtrack DLC
A soundtrack DLC is also on the way, so you'll be able to enjoy Merhum's music outside the game and support the band!
