This update has a few initial tweaks and fixes based on player feedback. Today saw the long-awaited DLC launch, too! Enjoy! If you’ve spent time with Heart of the Machine or Kinship and want to leave a review of either, that’s always appreciated. Steam reviews carry weight. For a project like this — developed by a single person over many years, every review makes a difference.
Honest thoughts are what matter. Whatever your experience has been, sharing it helps.

Update 88 Changelog
Balance
- Playing With Matches: Peak Homes Torch Crews now come in two flavors: one that has a bigger fire symbol that includes ranged immunity, and one that comes in a smaller hollow fire symbol with no such immunity. This makes The Copycats battle a lot less brutal if you get behind while fighting against them.
- Okay, They're Fair Game This Time: Rioters that are coming out in response to you eco-terrorism are no longer considered civilians, as they are in enough numbers and strong enough that they need to be dealt with in some fashion. This means your bulks and workers will dispatch them. Existing saves will have existing rioters treated differently, but new rioters will be attackable. The rioters that appear in the base game or in The Fracturing Doom 5 are both still considered civilians because they are not attacking you, so your bulks/workers will still not target them.
- And How Dare They: Enemies attacking your pets will now draw threat lines against them.
Bugfixes
- Golden Vulnerability: Fixed an issue where when your units became Tracked, they were not actually getting "extra vulnerability from above" unless they were bulk/worker androids, and it was then throwing a bunch of visible errors.
- Bye, Typo: Fixed a typo on the human biodata resource.
- They Can't All Be Tree Farms: When a POI has lost all its buildings due to eco-terrorism, it now ceases being a POI. That was already the case if you nuked them or used chemical weapons attacks, but now it counts this, too. It does not affect existing empty POIs in current savegames, but will affect any new POIs that become empty.
- Neat Trick, Robots: During the setup phase of a timeline, the new DLC contemplations are no longer visible, thus making them match how the base game already worked.
