Exactly ten years ago today, Along the Edge landed on Steam. Back then, we had no idea where this journey would take us. Ten years later, we are still here, getting ready for the release of After the Wane, which is coming out in just one month.
As the studio's dutiful communications manager, I took a little dive into our archives and dug up this photo from 2016, taken during the game's initial launch. It shows Nicolas (at the top), our artist, and Geoffroy (at the bottom), our writer, posing at BGF, a French gaming festival. It does not make our team any younger, but it certainly shows that we have been working with love and passion for many years now!
That launch let us tell the story of Daphne, who became one of the studio's most iconic and beloved characters. I am writing this newsletter from our small French studio, surrounded by artwork from the game, listening to the soundtrack, with stars in my eyes.
Today, Along the Edge remains our best-selling, most played, and most popular game. It holds a very special place in our hearts. We really wanted to say a massive thank you: to those who have been supporting us since 2016, as well as everyone who joined along the way.
To celebrate this anniversary, we put together a few surprises to keep the game alive in your hearts. Maybe this is the perfect time to start a new playthrough, introduce someone to the story, and step inside the Delatour estate once again?
First surprise, and the most important one: we are finally releasing the official soundtrack! Just like Echoes, it received a masterful remaster by Illustrason to showcase the original recordings in all their glory. You asked us for it hundreds of times, and the time has finally come. It will arrive on Steam in a few days, as soon as the platform approves it.
Second surprise: the announcement of a digital artbook. It is not quite ready yet, as we are still digging up the best hidden and unseen artwork, but we promise it is coming very soon.
At the same time, we are updating the game with a Spanish translation, written and created by fans of the studio. A huge thank you to Tuarez, Moonwitchstar, and CaptainMorgane for their incredible dedication. This project took a long time. It might still have a few small typos, but it was made with love. If you play in Spanish and notice any mistakes, please be gentle and let us know!
For anyone curious who has not taken the plunge yet, the demo is now available. No more excuses not to try our game! Tell your friends about it. The game will also get a major discount when After the Wane launches next month.
