Join the Test for the New Type B Controls!
Hello, this is Sunny Side Up, the development team behind Little Witch in the Woods.
To improve the convenience of controller controls, we are preparing new Type B controls. The existing control scheme will remain as Type A, and in this test we would like you to actually play with the newly added Type B controls and share your feedback.
We'll also be giving away Steam Gift Cards to randomly selected survey participants, so we hope many of you will join!
This test is available on the Steam version only.
Test Details
Type A: The existing control scheme
Type B: The newly designed control scheme
We are collecting your feedback on the Type B controls.
The test build is identical to the current live version — it is a separate Steam branch with only the control scheme changed.
It works with your existing saves.
Saves created during the test can continue to be used in the live version after the test ends.
You can participate with most controllers supported by the game, including the Xbox Controller, DualSense, and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

End: Sunday, November 1, 2026, 11:59 PM PST

How to Join the Test
You can play by switching to the separate test version on Steam.
How to switch to the test version:
Steam client - Library - Right-click 'Little Witch in the Woods' - Properties
Select the test version \[controller_typetest] under Game Versions & Betas
Close the window and check that the Play button changes to Update
Launch the game and check that the version shown in the bottom-left corner indicates the test build
How to return to the live version after the test:
Open the same menu as when switching to the test version, select Default Public Version under Game Versions & Betas, and close the window
After updating, launch the game and check the build version shown in the bottom-left corner
Test Steps
Once you switch to the test version and launch the game, the controller controls will be set to Type B. (Type A cannot be selected during this test. In the official update, you will be able to choose whichever type you prefer.)
You can check the detailed controls in \[Menu - Controls].
Play freely with a controller for at least 30 minutes. (Including the required test items below)
Once you've played, please fill out the survey at the link.

Moments when you couldn't find the button for the action you wanted to perform
Moments when pressing a button resulted in a different action than you expected
Required Test Items
The survey will ask about the following actions. Please make sure to try each one at least once while playing.
Sprint
Collect 3 or more Tinkle Spiders in Green Forest (you need to approach them slowly by walking to collect them)
Open and close Favorites
Open and close the Memo Board (quest summary screen)
Sort a list (in Favorites or the Inventory)
Open and close the Encyclopedia or the Map
Mount and dismount the Broom, and speed up and slow down while riding (only if you have obtained the Broom)
End of Test
Once the test ends, the test version will be closed. Even if you don't switch versions manually after the test, you will automatically be switched to the live version once the test version closes.

The survey will ask for your feedback on the test experience, as well as your Steam ID for the prize drawing.
The survey is available in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, and you can change the language in the top-right corner.
Survey Prizes
10 randomly selected survey participants will receive a Steam Digital Gift Card worth $18.
Prize: Steam Digital Gift Card ₩25,000 (Approx. $18 USD)
Number of winners: 10
Selection method: Random drawing among valid survey responses
Duplicate entries from the same Steam ID will be excluded
Prize Delivery
Winners will receive a Steam friend request, and prizes will be delivered individually after being added as a friend.
Friend request period: Until Monday, November 2, 2026, 11:59 PM PST
Since there is a waiting period for gifting after a friend request is accepted, it may take up to 5 days for the prize to be delivered.
If the friend request is not accepted by Sunday, November 8, 2026, 11:59 PM PST, the prize may be passed on to the next winner.
Notes
The Type B control scheme may change based on the test results.
