[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3509420/Planetbase_2/"] We are now presenting the second world you will be able to colonize in Planetbase 2: Europa
Europa is the smallest of the Galilean moons orbiting Jupiter, is a frozen world with a surface covered in vast, smooth ice sheets, which have broken into large plates that have shifted and refrozen.
You will be able to see Jupiter in the horizon looming menacingly over your colony.
Gameplay Challenges
Europa will present an increased difficulty level compared to Mars, incorporating new gameplay elements
High radiation
You will have to build protective Pylons, that use electrical energy to create an radiation shield for your people to work outside. If you don't people will slowly get radiation poisoning and will require medical treatment or they will die.
No atmosphere
No Wind Turbines, Aerial Drones or Monomer Refinery. You will still be able to make Rocket Fuel using the Hydrolox Refinery that works using H20 instead of CO2 from the martian atmosphere.
Low amount of Sun light
Solar Panels work at reduced efficiency, you will have to focus on Nuclear, Geothermal and Fusion Power to survive.
Further distance from Earth
Longer travel times for colonist and trade ships. In Planetbase 2 you can trade at any time, but you then have to wait for the trade ship to come to the colony, in Europa this lag will be longer.
Abundant Ice
One of the few advantages is that since Europa is made of Ice, water is more available, you can extract Ice from anywhere on the surface.
