Update: Spooky Event

G'day! everyone,

It’s been a while since our last update, and we’re happy to be back with some news.

The October update is now live, bringing the Spooky Event to Dinkum. During the event, you can catch Spectral Bats that appear around your island, collect “Ghoul Drops,” and use them to craft event items. Visit Clover’s Tailoring during Late to find her shop looking different than usual.

Decorate your island with new decorations and costumes to give it a spooky atmosphere, and change up your character with the customization options coming to Sally’s Salon. A new item that shows the locations of your farm animals on the map will also be added.

The update will also improve multiplayer saving and fix several bugs. Read on to see what’s included in this update!

Spooky Event

The Spooky Event takes place every year from October 1 to November 7, based on the player’s system clock. In 2026, the event will be available after the update is released.

During the event, Spectral Bats will appear around your island at night. The time night begins varies by season: 9 PM in summer, 7 PM in autumn, 6 PM in winter, and 8 PM in spring. Catch a bat with a Bug Net to receive a “Ghoul Drop.”

After Late, entering Clover’s Tailoring will reveal an event-themed shop interior. You can use Ghoul Drops and other materials at the cauldron beside Clover to craft various items.

New Customization Options at Sally’s Salon

Four Fantasy Skin Tones will be added to Sally’s Salon. During the event, you can also use four Spooky Eye Colors and three Spooky Mouth Options.

New Items

Unless otherwise noted, event items can be crafted at the cauldron in the tailoring shop.

• Various event-themed decorations, including the Ghoul Drop Lantern and Spooky Jackaroo statue, have been added. (17 decorations)

• Items with the same functionality as the Helicopter and backpack, but with different appearances, have been added, including the Flying Broom Stick and Spooky Pack.

  • Like the Helicopter, the Flying Broom Stick requires a license to ride.

• Various event-themed costumes have been added, including a bat costume that makes a bat fly around the player’s head when worn. (14 costumes)

• The Farm Animal Bell has been added as an item sold at Irwin’s Barn. Once placed, ring the bell to show the locations of all farm animals as icons on the map.

  • It will be sold in a random rotation alongside other items at Irwin’s Barn.

Other Changes

• An option has been added that allows island visitors to save their progress even if they are unexpectedly disconnected during multiplayer.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed an issue that made it appear as though the game had frozen when a visiting player renamed a farm animal, preventing them from continuing to play normally.

• Fixed an issue that caused the host’s character to appear bald when a visitor joined while the host was holding a clothing item.

• Fixed an issue that caused players to become invisible when riding a saddled Mu far away from other players in multiplayer.

• Fixed an issue that made it appear as though the game had frozen when a player was pushed into a Tele-Tower or Tele-Pad while using a menu, preventing them from continuing to play normally.

• Fixed an issue that caused tools to be removed from an NPC’s inventory unnecessarily.
