I hope you've all been enjoying the Rust & Romance Update for Necesse!
I know we've had a ton of fun at the office, checking out all the crazy new personality combinations you guys have been putting together to reach some insane quality of life levels for your settlers!
I think the highest level I caught was a settler at quality of life level above 40 😅
I'd also like to thank everyone who played Necesse during the free weekend!
We had over 150,000 new players try out our game for the very first time! That's crazy!
Now onward to the big news!
We have partnered up with Fireshine Games!

I believe this is a defining moment for Fair Games. I've been looking for a partner for Necesse for a long time, and Fireshine feels like the perfect fit.
Fireshine Games are already known for publishing some awesome games out there, such as Core Keeper, Far Far West and Necesse fits right in! They also have a lot of experience when it comes to other platforms, which I'm super excited about.
And don't worry, nothing is going to change development-wise for Necesse. We're still going to be the same team of friends, showing up everyday to work on the game that we love.
Now we're just going to have more time to do that, as Fireshine will be helping out with a lot of the larger time consuming tasks such as publishing and porting. Yay!
I've put together a FAQ below that I hope will cover most of the questions you might have about this new partnership.
My two biggest goals have always been to share Necesse with as many players around the world as possible and to secure the continued development of our game for years to come.
This partnership feels like a big step towards those goals.
I hope you'll all help me in welcoming Fireshine to our community!
And I'll of course be sharing some more update news soon, including our plans for the Christmas update 🥳

FAQ
Do Fair Games still decide what gets added to Necesse?
- Yes. We'll still be leading the game direction for Necesse and all it's upcoming updates.
We'll of course be brainstorming ideas and feedback with Fireshine, as their vast experience in the survival/crafting genre is an amazing resource to have. But other than that, development will continue as it did before.
Are there going to be less updates?
- No. It will probably be pretty similar to how it is right now. But I expect the size of the updates to be a bit bigger, as we'll have more development time than before.
Will the Necesse developers still respond on social platforms such as Discord, Reddit and Steam?
- Yes. Necesse is still a community driven game and it's important to us to stay in touch with what you, our players, think and want for our shared game.
Who is Fireshine Games?
- Fireshine Games is a cool publisher from London that shares the same love and passion for amazing indie games just as we do!
They have a ton of awesome game titles they're publishing on such as Core Keeper, Far Far West, Duskfade, Isle Goblin and Denshattack!
If you'd like to learn more about them, I recommend dropping by their website, they're super nice people!
