This week, we’re delivering a large update to the Field Guide, adding sub-categories to help with the organization, comparison, and searching of items within the guide.
We’re also introducing a brand new item that can be acquired by hunting one of Icarus’ large creatures: the Sandhorn Horn. This new resource provides a large amount of Organic Resin, making it easier to gather this essential resource.
We also have a sneak peek at next week’s patch, which will include an update to Radiation environmental effects.
Notable Improvements:
- The SMPL3 - LOST quest will now clean up its structure after the quest is finished
- Fixed issues where weather events effects would end abruptly instead of slowly dissipating
- Fixed numerous virtual stat calculations which where incorrectly calculating (see notes below for the full list)
- Fixed the repeatable watering of plants to amass XP. Buffed base XP values of water and fertilizing crops from 100 to 150
This Week: Field Guide
This week we've expanded the usability of the Field Guide by adding in sub-categories to most major categories. This allows us to better organize content which gives better opportunity for player-led discovery. Now you can see all of the Knives side-by-side and glance over their details to decide where you want to take your resource-gathering journey to next.
Did you know you can build a Lava Hunter Bomber mine that will unleash several Lava Flyers towards a nearby enemy target? See it and all of the other options under the Defenses | Traps category.
This is a first-pass run at organizing the hundreds of pages in the Field Guide and we will continue to improve the organization and discoverability of items as we go. We'd also love to hear your feedback on ways that would improve this.
As a reminder the field guide can be accessed by pressing 'J' or 'F1' on your keyboard or right clicking on items and selecting 'Open in Field Guide'.
This Week: Sandhorn Horn
This week, we’ve also added a brand new item that can only be obtained by tracking down and defeating a Sandhorn, found in the desert regions of Elysium.
The Sandhorn Horn, much like an Elephant Tusk, is a common but not guaranteed drop. It can be ground in a Mortar & Pestle to produce 300 Organic Resin, making this essential resource easier to obtain.
We plan on examining other similar larger tough creatures and providing them with unique items that can be hunted for in future.
Next Week: Radiation Environmental Effects
Next week we're implementing some improvements and fixes to radiation areas. This includes improved visuals to better represent the area which is affected by radiation, and also some fixes and optimizations to the way dynamically created radiation areas interact with other nearby radiation areas, fixing issues with clipping and optimizing performance of the effects by not spawning effects on top of each other.

- Fixing Bug where you could continually water crops fro XP, this would just consume water, play the sount and grant XP, you can now only complete the water action when the crops require it. No functionaility was changed in terms of crops watering, you just not longer lose water or grant xp when the crop is already in the watered state
