Hello, I've released a small patch in the publicbeta branch. This is mainly a stability patch - it fixes a bug with large savegames on XBox, and a rare crash involving multithreading, plus a few smaller bugs that people reported.
However, I also added a minor feature - a "Hills" slider on the World creation tab when starting a Sandbox game. This is a feature that got requested surprisingly often, and was quite simple to add, but until now I never did as there was a mod for it already. Trouble with that though is mods aren't available on console (and I don't think ever will be due to XBox restrictions on code mods), so maybe it's still worth "promoting" a mod to the main game from time to time if it's small and doesn't seem like too big a risk to stability etc.
Speaking of that, the existing mods for hilliness should still work fine. They'll also work slightly differently to the new slider, as they just affect the overall flatness of everything, whereas setting the slider at 50% will try to create some flatter and some hillier areas - so you might prefer one approach or the other.
Here's the change list:
Hilliness slider
Possible rare crash fix
Fix for error on XBox when saving very large savegames
Fix for characters getting stuck in a loop collecting and auto-depositing meat to cook when hungry
Fix for characters auto-collecting arrows of every type from the ground if you set them to auto-collect arrows of one type
Disable Use option on save tokens if saving is not allowed due to main character being about to die of unhealable infection or suchlike
Updated Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Latin American Spanish, Polish, Russian and Traditional Chinese translations
What's this publicbeta thing?
v287 will be in the "publicbeta" branch on Steam for a while, before pushing it to the main game and to XBox. If you want to try the latest features as they come out (and help test them!) it's a good idea to start using this branch. But keep in mind:
Because it's the bleeding edge it could be less stable
If you want to be able to play online co-op with someone you'll need to be on the same version as them
If you go back from the "publicbeta" branch to the main branch you may not be able to load savegames created on "publicbeta".
To use publicbeta, just right-click on Survivalist: Invisible Strain in your Steam library and go to Properties, then "Game Versions & Betas" and select "publicbeta".
