hello everyone, It’s been a while. Between moving for the third time this year and getting settled, things have been pretty hectic, but everything is finally coming together.
Thanks to your support, Disminal has actually made it possible for me to pursue game development full-time. I’m deeply grateful to everyone playing, which is why I’m going to keep pushing forward on it.
I know updates have taken longer than expected and the game still needs polish, but being a solo dev means things take time. Thank you for your patience! That said, Disminal 2.0 is planned to release near the end of October.
this is a major update, which will include the addition of a good number of elevators that will let you go from one place to the other without having to either keep different save files or walking to that desired destination. the cool thing is that these elevators work like a bus line system. some have access to other destinations while other do not.
The idea is having these elevators connect to new added locations in the game. Yes you heard me right. New places. The current map will stay intact. this has been my dream for a long time. in fact the next week i released Disminal on may 2024, i found myself making elevators to work exactly on this system i have now., but abandoned the project for what seemed easier or more interesting to me at that time. that ended up being Mazewar. that game still needs love but online games are deceivingly complex which had me wasting tons of time and not working on Disminal.

There's also another camera controller I’ve been working on. I’m not sure if it will release alongside the Elevator update, it might come shortly after, but it features far more realistic camera behavior, much closer to real bodycam footage. I still need to iron out collisions and physics, though.
The elevator system itself still needs a bit of rework regarding the panel display, the panel interaction buttons, and overall sound design, but it’s pretty much fully functional at the time of writing this. I’m super hyped about it all!
Cheers everyone, see you in October!
