Hey dear BIG LOOTER!
I can’t believe this is happening. What a long, fun and tough journey it has been...
I started developing this game in November 2023, almost 3 years ago. A lot of things have changed in my life, but BIG LOOT and the community around this game have always been there. Thank you for that! Thank you for playing, leaving feedback and for all your support! You can’t even imagine how important it was for me as a solo dev.
So, let’s move to the patch notes. As I mentioned before, it’s a BIG BIG patch, as it should be for a 1.0 release. This patch brings improved graphics, animations, weather, reworked trading, quests, endgame, a lot of new items, biomes, perks, rebalancing and more!
IMPORTANT! As this is the biggest patch with a lot of changes and I could have missed something, PLEASE, if you find a bug, especially a critical one, report it as soon as possible on the Discord channel. Thank you in advance!
Full 1.0 patch notes:
Reworked trading
Each trader can now buy all your items (except keys, weapons, caravan modules, armor and dishes)
Each trader has a random amount of coins and buys items at a fixed percentage of their value
Previous offers will remain, but in a different block called “Special Offers”. The trader’s coin amount and item price percentage do not affect these offers
Trade company orders should now be accepted, otherwise they will be refreshed when you reach the next city. If you don’t complete an accepted order, you’ll get a penalty of 30% of the order reward. Accepted orders will be shown in the inventory window to make it easier to track missing items
By default, you have 2 available order offers to choose from out of 5. You can increase the number of available offers by completing quests
Items
Added 2 new rarities: Arcane and Legendary
Added a lot of new items (the total number has gone over 200)
Reworked the algorithm for loot locked by keys. Increased total loot value and added a chance to find extra very rare loot (Epic or even Arcane rarity). The chance depends on key rarity: from 15% to 35%
Personal shop
You can now buy your own shop in Traders City
There are 2 shop windows available for placing ANY item (except dishes). To get 2 additional shop windows, you need to complete quests
Items will be sold by the time you visit Traders City again
Items are sold for a random price (50–100% of their value). The price range also depends on the durability of the item, if it has durability
Quests
Added quests and 6 different quest chains: Collector, Trader, Hunter, Traveler, Landowner, Legends
Completing quests gives you reputation points
Added 10 reputation perks (e.g. traders pay more for goods, have more coins, etc.)
Max reputation level unlocks the endgame goal: show your trader’s influence and finish the game
Reworked adventure picker window
The “Adventure Level” definition has been changed to “Risk Level”
Added an info popup for each risk level. It shows the number of unique biomes, recommended armor range, loot rating range and elite enemy spawn chance range
Added different paths. You can choose a path to skip the next rest point and go to the one after it
Adventure cards now show if an elite enemy is spawned instead of showing the chance of spawning one
Changed all biome images
New locations
Added 4 new biomes and 2 cities
Traders City: help the city elder restore the city by completing local quests for a secret reward. By completing local quests, you’ll get access to local traders with fixed prices and some exclusive offers
The rest of the details I’ll leave for you to explore :)
Perks
Increased max character level: 55 → 76
New perk block: Miner. Unlock mining speed, an increased chance for additional ores and shiny stones
New perk block: Gatherer. Unlock increased looting speed, a chance to find additional plants and more backpack slots
Combat and enemies
Reworked combat animations and added swing effects
Enemies now get knocked back a little after being hit
New boar behavior. Added charging and a marker while charging
New neutral enemy behavior. They now run away if they see the player
Whistle
When standing on the road, you can see how far the horse is from you, and now you can call it to you by whistling. But the horse can only move forward on the road, it can’t go back
Balancing changes
Reworked how crafting recipes are discovered. You now need a certain character level to unlock a recipe instead of finding all the required items for it
Rebalanced the item pool for some points of interest. For example, some locations no longer have food items
Golden Sands and the new desert biomes have a food level of 0, so prepare carefully for adventures in these areas
Increased hunger/thirst rate by 18%
Increased character default sprint speed by 15%
Increased character move speed by 43%
Increased character speed change rate by 100%
Decreased total stamina perk bonuses for max speed: 45% → 20%
Increased interaction radius by 30%
Increased max bank storage capacity and corrected prices. Max slots: 30 → 49, max weight: 200 → 300
Rebalanced the playable character Lazuria and changed the required total trade profit to unlock the character: 20,000 → 5,000
New character - Veteran
Added a new character with low stats (50 HP/Hunger/Thirst) for hardcore players, but with a 2x EXP bonus. To unlock this character, you need to finish the game
Steam achievements
Added 17 Steam achievements
Steam Trading Cards are in development, so please stay tuned :)

One more thing…
I know that I’ve chosen one of the harder genres for solo development, but I can’t do anything about it. I love survival games, and I love even more what I’m trying to improve or even invent if it doesn’t exist yet: the loot hoarder genre.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many games focused on collecting and hoarding loot. I’ve always dreamed about a game like this. That’s how BIG LOOT was born. I hope I can help grow and improve this genre, putting all my passion into it and listening to the community.
Half a year ago I made a prototype for my next game. Some successful experiments from it made their way into BIG LOOT, which is great, so even while spending time on something different, I was still improving BIG LOOT :)
My next game will be in the same genre, stylized like BIG LOOT and... with co-op! For now, that's all the details I can share. After all, today is a day for BIG LOOT! This game is the result of a lot of hard work, and I hope you like it!
Have fun with 1.0 BIG LOOT and a BIG thank you for staying with me! <3
