Hey Parcel Inspectors! This update took a little longer than expected as I've been working around a much-needed and long-awaited engine upgrade behind the scenes, as well as continuing to optimise the warehouse when you have large quantities of parcels. If you use any mods or mod loaders, please read the next paragraph as you'll need to update them for this new version to work!
⚠️ Using Third-Party Mods? PLEASE READ ⤵️⚠️
This update includes a major update to the Unreal Engine version used for Parcel Sim, which means that if you use any mods, mod loaders, etc. that have not been updated then your game will crash. Parcel Sim does not officially support mods, however the modding community has already setup patches and updates to both mods and mod loaders, so please update your mods, or remove them entirely, to be able to continue playing. Thanks!
🪧 Storage Rack Signs
You can now purchase the "Storage Rack Signs" Upgrade which applies a sign to every storage rack in your warehouse. By default, these signs will try and be intelligent and automatically 🪄 assign a sign (nice rhyme) to the rack based on the contents of the rack; this includes countries, cargo types, and invalid parcels. If no auto-sign can be found, or you wish to manually set a rack as a "buffer" rack, you can manually cycle through the options available.
🛍️ Shop Order History and Re-Purchase
The Shop now has an "Order History" tab which allows you to add any of your previous shop orders' items to your basket. This should mean less spam-clicking when repeatedly ordering similar groups of items.
📐 T-Joiner Conveyor
As the name implies, the T-Joiner conveyor allows two streams of parcels to be joined into one, but in a T-shape. The existing joiner still remains, so you can setup joins in whichever way you please!
⭐ Quality of Life
Added a progress bar to the Upgrades tab to better indicate when you don't yet have 100% of them purchased
Controller support: added a checkout hotkey to the shop basket
📊 Performance and Optimisation
The underlying Unreal Engine version has been updated as it provides some performance improvements, and better tooling for me to develop Parcel Sim with. This will cause issues with older mods and mod loaders, so make sure to update/remove any of these if you use mods!
The way labels are rendered has been fully reworked, heavily improving performance with large quantities of parcels in the warehouse
🛠️ Fixes
Dozens of micro improvements to controller support and gamepad navigation, allowing the entire game to now be played with a controller
Fixed malformed parcels with "Country: None", or "Criteria: N/A" coming up as "incorrect" when submitting, instead assuming validity as this is a fairer assumption
Use the new arrow style for joiner conveyors
Allow players to jump down the sides of the export chutes in the original warehouse to pickup parcels that have fallen down
Fixed save slot list not refreshing when deleting a save file
Fixed country names/details not changing when language changes
Various localisation tweaks and missing strings added
🔍 What I'm currently working on
Clear doors buttons to submit partially filled doors at the end of the day
Making it easier to pick up/remove lots of conveyors at once
Sandbox mode (coming later in the year)
