We had a lot of fun with Pumpkin Fest during the Steam Next Fest demo, and September 29 feels like a good time to put pumpkins on everything again. To be honest, I’ve been celebrating Halloween since August 1 but I was told that’s too early for a fall event, which is rude, but here we are.
Pumpkin Fest returns next week, bringing festive enemies, fireworks, and another chance to earn skills, decorations, and sprays.
We also worked on things that aren’t pumpkins! Your weapon contest winners are getting three new Runari Rush Origins, and we’ve got map improvements coming based on a ton of community feedback.

Brooks Wants Your Pumpkin Coins
Pumpkin Knight Grobbs and Pumpkin Mask Greebles will be roaming the islands, and the Dullahan boss is returning (same boss as last time, but fancy new name). Defeat them or destroy pumpkin firework crates to collect Pumpkin Coins, then take your earnings to Brooks for event rewards.
Keep Track of Your Travels
We’ve made some changes based on your feedback to help you see where you’ve been and what you’ve collected.
Repairing a Sylfstone will reveal the surrounding area on your world map, and Sylfstones will be visible across all islands.
The new region list lets you check your collection progress region by region. Select one to see its boundaries and markers for collectibles and chests you’ve already gathered, helping you narrow down where to look next.
Meet Wanderer, Demon, and Runic Dancer
The weapons you helped bring into Cloudheim are getting their own Runari Rush Origins! We’ve built three new starting loadouts around the contest winners:
Wanderer: Start with the Baat Jaam Do and Ring Pommel Dao, then build into weapon damage and attack speed. Keep swinging.
Demon: Bring the Tang Heng Dao and a set of strong fire abilities. If you like investing heavily in skill damage, start here.
Runic Dancer: Take the Runic Chakram for a spin, with spinning attacks and abilities plus some support for your allies.
Pick the one you want to try first, then take on its unlock challenge: completing the corresponding island with Lead Weights enabled.
A Note for Returning Pumpkin Fest Players
Bought skills during the first Pumpkin Fest? Rejoin the world where you purchased them. They’ll be remembered on your account, allowing you to equip them in other worlds as well.
Old Pumpkin Coins won’t carry over because of the changes that let event rewards travel between worlds. In reality, Brooks stole them all and refused to give them back.
We’ve also got another round of fixes, including the inventory soft lock while downed, fewer enemies spawning inside walls on Greenvor, and a clearer quest indicator for Leti. We’ll share the full patch notes with the update.
