The Legends are pulling up next week Tuesday, Sept 29 for our biggest update since launch, Wave One – 2000s Legends. Our first seasonal update of content is free for all players headlined by five NBA Legends that’ll have players re-thinking their starting squads.

The Legends Are Ready to Show Out and Wreak Havoc on Lineups
NBA Legends and Hall of Famers arrive including Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki and Tracy McGrady with unique gameplay animations and alternate uniforms
Unlock each Legend in-game for 5K CRED each OR purchase them as DLC for $9.99 to get all 5 Legends at once
Legends Ratings were revealed and showed many players may need to re-think their top 3v3 lineup
Leave Your Mark With the new Championship Belt
Earn a Championship Belt with each player, giving you another way to show true mastery across the roster
Earn the strap with every baller in Squads & Solos… Can you collect them all and be the GOAT of THE RUN?
Drive Camera arrives with Two Additional Cam Options
Drive Cam & Drive Flip Cam have been added to the game for a more modern in-game feel with “down the court” action giving players a whole new way to experience the game
Drive Cam looks towards the basket you are shooting on from behind your player
Drive Flip Cam looks towards the basket you are shooting on offense and flips to look at the basket you are defending
Read lanes better, solidify your defensive strategy, get a clearer look on how open you are on shot attempts… The new camera opens up the court!
Practice Mode and Custom Matches Help Hone Your Game
Practice Mode arrives, giving you a place to get reps in your own way. It’s a single game vs the CPU with the court and ruleset of your choosing on Knockout Squads or Knockout Solos mode
Custom Matches take it a step further by allowing you to invite up to 5 Friends online in Squads to practice with or against you
We’re talking about practice – Experiment with different setups before jumping into the competition as matches in these modes won’t earn CRED or affect progression
New Courts: Dyckman (Day + Tournament variants) + Spring Garden Elementary (Day variant)
Both a daytime and nighttime version of the famous Dyckman Court are coming to NBA THE RUN, showing some love to NY, city of the newest NBA Champions and where many of streetball’s greatest courts live
Previously available only in Shootaround, the Spring Garden Elementary (Day) rooftop court has been added into the Knockout Tournament map playlist.
Gameplay Improvements
The team also touched on a number of gameplay changes and improvements in the works including a significant goaltending nerf, player changes (see below), and more advanced off-the-heezy animations – including situations where defenders can get hit multiple times or even get dropped
There’s more to unpack here, including new driving layups, standing dunks, alley-oops and more, and we’ll be taking a deeper look at these gameplay changes later this week
Notable Player Updates
A number of players are also getting attention, including Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, LaMelo Ball, Kawhi Leonard, Bam Adebayo and Cooper Flagg
Street Legends also got buffs including Spin Cycle, Shen Tong and DJ
The Rookie Class has seen their stats ticked down a little bit

More Vibes and Expression + Licensed Music Arrives
New Taunts, Advanced Dunks, Banners, Badges and Alternate Jerseys are coming to the Shop.
Licensed music is also on the way to NBA THE RUN with a few options to curate your soundspace
Leaderboards will be resetting on the same day of the update Sept. 29. We’re looking forward to seeing who ends up in the Top 5 before the update.
