Version 1.5 brings a major engine upgrade, new graphics options, performance improvements, a reworked controls system, harvesting improvements, and a large collection of fixes across inventory, weapons, vehicles, multiplayer, and persistence.
[p align="start"][p align="start"]One of the biggest changes under the hood is the move to Unity 6.3 LTS. Alongside the engine upgrade, we've spent a significant amount of time reducing unnecessary work on both clients and dedicated servers, improving world streaming, cutting temporary memory allocations, and optimizing a number of systems that were doing more work than they needed to.DLSS 4.5, FSR 3 and New Anti-Aliasing Options
[p align="start"]Version 1.5 introduces NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 support and updates AMD FSR to the FSR 3 upscaling integration.[p align="start"]We've also expanded the available image-quality options with DLAA and Native AA, improved the way DLSS and FSR quality presets are selected, and added separate sharpening settings for each upscaler.[p align="start"]Graphics settings should now behave more reliably when switching between presets or different upscaling technologies.[p align="start"]Frame generation remains temporarily disabled while we continue investigating frame-spike behavior.A Completely Reworked Controls Menu
[p align="start"]The Controls menu has received a substantial overhaul.[p align="start"]Bindings are now displayed using a cleaner two-column layout, keyboard and mouse rebinding has been improved, conflicts are easier to identify, and reset controls have been cleaned up.[p align="start"]Controller players also get several new options, including:Separate controller look sensitivity
Controller invert-Y
Hold or toggle aiming
Hold or toggle crouching
Direct access to Steam Controller Configuration
Choose What You Harvest
[p align="start"]Harvesting now has a new right-click loot menu.[p align="start"]Instead of automatically collecting everything from a harvestable object, you can inspect the available resources and choose exactly what you want to take.[p align="start"]Individual items can be collected separately, or you can still use Take All when you want to grab everything.[p align="start"]This brings harvesting closer to the normal container-looting experience and gives players much more control over inventory management while gathering resources.Performance Improvements
[p align="start"]A major focus of this update has been reducing unnecessary processing across both the game client and dedicated servers.[p align="start"]We've optimized nearby item selection, trader animation processing, world streaming, mod checks, interior scene checks, AI spawn points, loot containers, harvest objects, navigation links, and several recurring input systems.[p align="start"]Dedicated servers now avoid loading or processing a number of presentation-related systems that aren't required without a graphical client.[p align="start"]We've also limited the number of sectors that can be streamed simultaneously to prevent large world-streaming spikes.[p align="start"]These improvements touch many different parts of the game rather than one single system, and we'll continue profiling and optimizing throughout the Experimental period.Persistence, Weapons and Vehicle Fixes
[p align="start"]Version 1.5 also contains a significant round of fixes aimed at item reliability.[p align="start"]We've addressed cases where items could disappear when merging with spawned loot stacks, interrupted placement could leave objects missing, anchored world objects could duplicate, and valid saved objects could potentially be removed while only part of the world was loaded.[p align="start"]Weapon attachments received additional persistence fixes when moving weapons between the inventory and world, as well as when recovering equipment from death backpacks.[p align="start"]Vehicle storage and item placement have also been improved, particularly around physics, anchors, cancelling placement, and switching rapidly between placed and equipped objects.Multiplayer and Reconnection Improvements
[p align="start"]Several multiplayer cleanup systems have been updated.[p align="start"]Stale player sessions should no longer interfere with reconnecting to a server, authentication cleanup has been improved, crafting sessions are cleaned up correctly when respawning, and clients should no longer attempt certain network requests after disconnecting.[p align="start"]We've also fixed several disconnect-related errors involving containers and audio.Save Database Update
[p align="start"]Version 1.5 uses a new V8 save database.[p align="start"]Existing V7 progress is not automatically loaded into V8.[p align="start"]Your previous V7 database files remain on disk and are not modified by the new database version.Patch Notes - 1.5
