Deckline — Major Update

Deckline · Community Announcements · September 22, 2026

It has been a while.

Deckline launched as one hand of Durak, played in a room you could not touch.

This update is about both halves of that.

Durak is a fuller game now, with Passing, proper attack rules, draws, three opponents, new scoring and more ways to play.

And the room is no longer just something you sit in.

You can look around. Listen to the radio. Find things. Learn a little more about where you are.

If you preferred Deckline the way it was, Classic Durak is still there. Choose it before the match and play as before.

Durak

Passing Durak

Passing (переводной) is now playable.

Instead of defending against an attack, you can play a card of the same rank onto the table and pass the entire attack to your opponent.

Your opponent can pass it back, too.

Choose PASSING when starting a match, or stay with CLASSIC for the original mode.

Six-card attack limit

The maximum attack size has been increased from five cards to six, matching the proper Durak rule.

Lowest trump attacks first

The first attacker is no longer decided by a coin flip.

Whoever holds the lowest trump begins the match.

Draws

Matches can now end in a draw.

If the deck is empty and both players get rid of their final cards together, nobody is the fool.

A draw does not affect your score or win streak.

Previously, this situation was incorrectly counted as a victory.

Three opponents

There are now three difficulty levels:

RECRUIT SOLDIER VETERAN

Soldier is the opponent Deckline originally shipped with and remains unchanged.

Veteran is more careful. He remembers cards that have already been played and is much less willing to spend his trumps early.

Each difficulty also puts a different soldier across the table from you.

New scoring

Wins now reward score based on the opponent you defeat:

Recruit — +10 Soldier — +25 Veteran — +40

A loss costs 25 points on every difficulty.

The leaderboard now reflects how you perform rather than simply how many matches you have played.

The room

The room has changed quite a bit.

Look around

There are now 17 things in the room you can inspect.

Tap the right mouse button to enter look mode, or hold it to freely move the camera.

Click something that catches your attention and you may learn a little more about it.

There are no glowing outlines or markers telling you what can be examined.

You have to look.

The radio works

The radio is no longer decoration.

Tune in between matches and you may catch one of eight transmissions.

They are heard in order.

Records

Everything you discover in the room is tracked in the Records section of the pause menu.

A counter also shows how much there is still left to find.

The clock runs

The wall clock now actually keeps time.

The lamp burns

The kerosene lamp now consumes fuel while it is lit.

There is no fuel gauge.

Instead, watch the flame.

As the lamp gets closer to empty, the flame gets smaller.

And the lamp has a reason to exist now.

A shell landing close enough can knock out the electricity.

Pills

Pills still steady your hands.

They now also reduce the amount of time your controls are locked after a direct shell impact.

Getting into the next hand

A number of smaller changes have been made to make Deckline faster and easier to play.

Play again without reloading

Starting another match no longer reloads the entire scene.

From the result screen, press Enter or Space and a new hand is dealt immediately.

The tutorial is not repeated.

Playable card hints

Cards now give you immediate feedback on whether they can be played.

Green means the card is currently legal.

Red means it is not.

This can be disabled in the settings if you prefer to read the table yourself.

Enter ends your turn

You no longer need to use the knife every time.

Pressing Enter now ends your turn as well.

Rulebook

Deckline now has an in-game rulebook.

It can be opened from both the main menu and the pause menu, and is available in every supported language.

Turn speed

A new Turn Speed option controls the waiting time between actions during a turn.

This also includes the delay around the knife.

No more waiting for impossible moves

If you have no legal card left to play, the game will no longer sit there waiting for input that cannot happen.

Settings

The settings menu has been expanded.

You can now configure:

The game now also ships with a frame rate limit enabled by default, preventing the GPU from running unnecessarily at full load when higher frame rates are not needed.

Screen effects can now be controlled separately as well.

Screen shake, light flicker and the shell shock effect can each be disabled independently.

The shelling itself still happens.

It just stops taking the screen with it.

Achievements

Achievements have received a fairly large pass as well.

The long-term win achievements now require:

50 / 100 / 250 wins

The loss achievements now require:

25 / 50 / 100 losses

If you have already passed one of the new thresholds, the corresponding achievement will be granted the next time you launch the game.

Six new achievements

Six new achievements have also been added for:

Descriptions have also been added to Bullseye and Purgatory, while incorrect descriptions for Handy and Dilettante have been fixed.

There was also an issue where players who skipped past the score requirements for Collector or Scorer could permanently miss those achievements.

That has been fixed.

Turkish

Deckline is now available in Turkish, bringing the total to 13 supported languages.

Every new line introduced in this update has been translated into all thirteen languages.

The fonts have also been rebuilt so unsupported characters should no longer appear as empty boxes.

Fixes

Alongside everything above:

That is the update.

If you have not played Deckline in a while, there is quite a bit more waiting at the table now.

The cards are still there.

But the room has been waiting, too.
